Valueless

I don’t value anything, except for maybe myself, my immediate family, and my computer.

I don’t value people, I don’t value places, I don’t value things.

I don’t want to eat out, I’m not all that interested in women, I’m not interested in traveling, I’m not even interested in driving.

My only hobbies and interests are what you see before you.

I don’t want to produce/consume anything but the bear necessities.

Is it possible humanity is suffering from collective narcissism… vanity?

Is it in love with everyone it is and everything it does?

Is that why human rights and consumerism are so prevalent?

Can we do no wrong?

Does everything we meddle with turn to gold?

Or is most of what we produce shit?

I think we have to be more discriminating with our time, energy and money.

We should all make less money, and we should all spend it more wisely.

Some people aren’t worth your compassion.

Just because a good or a service is new, popular, trendy, doesn’t mean it’s worth a fuck.

I’m better off working little, spending little and saving little.

You don’t have to do what others do.

You can get by in this world, be a renter your whole life, and be just fine.

The owner isn’t any better off than the renter, they can both live just as long, and the latter has more freedom than the former, or perhaps, a different kind of freedom. The renter can come and go as he pleases, but the owner can dispose of his property as he pleases. The owner chooses tomorrow, the renter chooses today. Is today not more certain than tomorrow? Who knows where you’ll be 10, 20 or 30 years from now, who knows where the economy will be? Who knows if you’ll even be?

It’s an illusion, we’re all caught up in it, not just the masses, but the ones seemingly pulling the strings, the political and economic elites, they’re not any better off, they’re slaves, slaves to their greed, narcissism and vanity, and at the end of the day, they only live a year or two longer, and if they’re happier, it’s only because they base their happiness on the expectations of others, for the middle class in India is just as happy as the middle class in America, even though their middle class is as poor or poorer than our lower class, but the middle class the world over is happier than the lower class, so it’s all a matter of perception, competition, envy, illusory. Let’s break the spell.

Man believes he can do no wrong, therefore, he produces and consumes everything under the sun.

It’s our belief in ourselves, humanism, that’s depleting our resources.

We should all stop believing, in the myth of mankind.

Man is just another manimal, he has no more inherent, intrinsic value than the others.

He’s here for a short time, and then he’ll be gone, having evolved into something else or going extinct, like 99% of the species out there.

See how the scientists too are in love with themselves?

They never ask themselves, do we need to know this, or that?

No, they assume more knowledge is good, they assume more is more.

Where’s our priorities, why do we need to know all that crap?

Where’s their scientific study proving the value of scientific studies?

Where’s the proof science has improved the lot of mankind?

They have none, they just want to remain in business.

They have faith that the more man knows, the wiser he’ll be, but perhaps there’s some things man shouldn’t fuck around with, like what happened to the tale of Eve, or the tale of Pandora, or Prometheus, have we forgotten?

I think we should do away with some human rights, or all of them, man isn’t that precious.

Some men might be a little more valuable than others, but most men are crap, feces.

Let everyone die, let man begin competing with himself again, hyper-competition, bloodshed, violence and war.

Let the rapists and the murderers run amok, it matters little.

Unleash the insane from the asylum upon the sane, or supposedly so.

I don’t want anything from you, none of your goods and services, plain food and clothes will do, nothing more, if I lived in a warm climate, I’d live in a tent or on a sandy beach.

Too much food and drink is killing us.

Vehicles, escalators and elevators are keeping us from exercise and fresh air.

Computers, televisions and video games are rotting our brains.

They’re bad for our eyes, and they emit harmful radiation, so sit back from them, and give yourself a break.

A man can keep busy on the computer, however, and why not?

Why not spend a lot of time on your computer, downloading independent games, movies and music, participating on forums such as this one?

The computer might be our salvation.

No longer do we need to travel or shop anymore, we can keep entertained without producing anything, without wasting any resources or polluting our environment.

We don’t have to spend a lot of money.

All you need is a computer, a walk in the park, food, clothing and a roof over your head, and you can shut the world out.

Why not?

No ambition, no drive, no trying to get ahead.

Your whole life, consuming media on line, producing it, that’s what I’m doing, I have no intention of furthering myself in this world except through the computer.

The internet is the final frontier, everything else in our political economy has long since been consolidated and monopolized.

Here we are free to do and say as we please, to come and go.

I’m in love with my sloth, my indifference, my apathy.

I’m in love with feeling nothing, nothing but peace and tranquility.

Pleasure is but a means to an end, the end being nothingness, a full nothingness.

Why work hard?

Why not find a relatively stress free job, with little or no responsibility, instead of worrying how much you earn, or impressing your so called friends.

Why reproduce?

There’s too many of us and far too few of everything else.

At most, have 1 or 2 children, and you don’t need a house to have them, raise and rear them in an apartment, or a trailer.

Find a low maintenance girl, perhaps an Amerindian not addicted to crack, or remain celebrate.

Let’s all relinquish the struggle to get ahead, to play their game.

You don’t have to vote, vote with your dollar, vote with your action or inaction. it’s something you can do or not do right now, a choice, no idealism, no political revolution, an individual one.

We just stop contributing much of anything to our economy, one by one, and if it collapses, so be it, I can’t wait to taste human flesh, I will take some of you with me before I go.

Humanity is overrated.

No, it is you. Do you know your limits, your breaking point?

I’m with Pandora. Pandora is a rare female of worth, which is extremely rare. Other females on this forum are worthless in comparison to Pandora.

The internet is not the limit. Your imagination is your limit. You’re not thinking beyond today. You should apply all that you know against “the future”. What does the future look like, objectively, with or without your participation?

If you died tomorrow, and the world goes on without you, what does the world look like in 100 years?

Most people cannot perform this thought exercise, philosophically, because they are too attached to their own egotistical values and idealism. Most people are not thinking objectively.

Look at the future objectively, after you have removed all your values.

That is the beginning of any worthwhile imagination.

Oh crap! #-o

This is a bad advice for you, Icarus. You need to come down – not fly higher. :open_mouth:

It’s good advice for Antithesis, and that’s important. He is in the opposite situation as I am. Good advice for me is bad advice for him. And bad advice for him is good advice for me.

I also want consumption to go to minimum. I wish we were all vegans.
I want corporations to be replaced by non profit civil services owned by a good direct democracy government.
I think it will never happen.

People are fascismo-fools.

It is called, “cognitive depression”.

It begins with you.

The only person you can directly change is yourself.

You may be able to influence a few people here and there, offline and on.

Occasionally things can snowball… ripples can turn into waves.

Very few people will ever have a platform to reach thousands or millions of people, however with the internet, this is becoming less and less so. A wise, charismatic figure could potentially affect thousands or millions of people. It’s all about timing, the right message for the right people, place and time.

You can’t count on all that though, our main responsibility in life is ourselves and our dependents, if we have any, everyone and everything else is secondary.

Don’t change for society, change for you.

At the end of the day, we’re all more selfinterested than not.

You don’t have to wait around for the world to change.

Quit your job, because it sucks.

Find a low paying, relatively responsibility/stress free job - cashier, cook or dishwasher in a relatively slow pace restaurant, janitor or security guard. Do it because all those frills, gimmicks or whatever isn’t worth the hassle, the stress.

Just live a simple life, anyone can do it, millions of people do, it’s the easiest thing in the world, it’s just a lot of poor people have hang ups - drugs and alcohol, cigarettes, gambling, or they’re mentally/physically disabled. They don’t choose to be poor, they’re just as bewitched by mammon as the rich, if not more. Their poverty is largely a consequence of their bad habits or inability, but I’m talking about choosing to live a relatively simple, solitary life, addiction free.

It’s ok to mooch off others a little when they’re riding high, and in turn, they you when you’re riding high, or shoplift from big business/corporations if you can.

Be a poor aristocrat, eat good, exercise, get plenty of fresh hydrogen and oxygen, have a few simple hobbies and interests you like, and that’s basically it.

That’s basically what I’m doing right now. Why am I beating myself over the head, trying to be somebody I’m not? Rather, I’m going to be what I am.

No revolution, no utopia, it begins today, here, now, you, but only if you’re ready. Lead by example, practice what you preach, put your money where your mouth is.

If enough people did that, as the economy gradually, incrementally comes to a halt, perhaps one day we’ll have local, direct democracy/meritocracy (I’m not a strict egalitarian, I think we need a little hierarchy, just not a ridiculous, ludicrous one where less than 00.01 percent of the population possess more than 99.99 percent of the wealth and resources) where laws are made by/for militias, instead of this fiasco we have now, but again, this is but a dream, unless you’re already part of a militia. Perhaps you can begin organizing to separate your state from your nation, or alternatively, your municipality from your state.

Btw, I’m not a vegan, I’m a basically a paleo except I eat a few beans and potatoes. Very rarely I eat dairy, grains and I’m trying to entirely eliminate junk, butter, oil, salt, sugar, chemicals and preservatives from my diet, but it’s tough.

That’s good too.

I spend extra money on health food items but I think those companies deserve support. I don’t buy much though, just food usually. So I am also living simple. I’ve got internet but that isn’t very destructive. I call that artificial food fascismo food.

Agreed, it’s good to eat organic if you can, good for you and your environment, and as people are voting with their dollar, less and less pricey.

In my view, the internet is one of the few good things to come out of modernity, infinitely superior to radio and television, so long as it remains free. I don’t even have cable anymore, haven’t watched television for years. It’s crap.

However, it’s good to take breaks, and you don’t want to get radiation sickness from sitting too close to the screen. There’s a 10 foot distance between me and my screen. My screen is 30 inches so I can see from far back.

I’m not sure what situation you’re in, but I can relate to your thinking too, but it’s very idealistic, I’m offering something more pragmatic for the everyday, but there’s another part of me, one I haven’t expressed for a while…

It’s just as antithetical as the one you read before you, but more out there.

insightful

On the contrary, I’m thinking beyond myself and today, however, myself and today are what’s most important, because they’re tangible, everything else follows myself and today, everything else is secondary. You can consider others and tomorrow, but you don’t emphasize it, you don’t live for it. I see a lot of I wish, I wish here and elsewhere, that and a lot of gossip and mundane babbling. Abortion, gay marriage, who the fuck cares? Somehow the philosophy of the everyday gets neglected, lost in all that, perhaps conveniently so.

I can’t say for certain but…

I’m seeing a decline, I’m seeing the end of American supremacy, fuck the end of Brazil, China and India too. Manimals will probably go the way of the dinosaur within the next century or less, because our way of life is fundamentally unsustainable. I think we’ll probably be gone, if we don’t get our house in order.

I don’t believe in absolute objectivity, we should focus on what’s more pertinent, on what’s more relevant, but we can focus on the distant past and future too.

I see death, destruction or dramatic decline.

I’m all for imagination, it’s a hierarchy, today first, tomorrow second, the day after the day after tomorrow or a far flung future third.

Additionally, in a round about way, by telling people to think more of today than tomorrow, I myself am thinking just as much about tomorrow as I am today, because I’m wondering, perhaps I, or someone like me, or some people like me, can spark a minor, or even a major consciousness revolution, where a significant minority or the majority will relinquish their consumerist values.

Honestly I’d rather play it safe. The only area I desire to push myself to my limits is in philosophy and maybe art. I’m a laidback person by nature, I loathe that Ayn Rand mentality. Not everyone can or wants to be like you, some people are more like Amerindians or Hispanics that way. You go drink your 10 or 20 coffees a day and burn out if you want to, kill yourself if you want to, but that’s not what I’m into. Sacrifice yourself for the good of the company. Another expendable component, a cog, a widget sent to the scrapheap on behalf of mammon. The internet is the final frontier in a very meaningful sense, it’s the only sector of society that hasn’t been completely consolidated by the powers that be.

I’m into minimization/moderation. Since when did excess become a virtue?

My challenge is not to see how much I can get, but how little I can do without.

So, ashes to ashes, and dust to dust.

In the end, life is primarily about survival, all that other crap is illusory.

Ironically, everyone and thing perishes.

However, what’s important, if anything, is that the cycle of birth and death continues, a cycle put in jeopardy by perpetually pushing our boundaries, testing our limits, and needlessly risking life and limb for monetarism.

If you’re not contributing to your health and survival, chances are you’re miserable.

Challenge is important, for pride, for survival, but risking your life when you don’t have to is foolish, in my view. Life is fraught with danger as it is, even if it doesn’t always appear so. Challenge comes on its own, why hasten it? And if you do seek it, why not pick and choose, doing something you love, for yourself or someone you love, while minimizing the risk of violent death?

You may preach whatever set of values you like, and I see some value in your values, but I find there’s a surplus of voices arguing and calling for excess in work, play, hedonism and materialism, and a deficiency of voices calling for contrary values - humility, minimization, moderation, modesty and respect.

I am my highest value.

My body and my mind.

I am precious to myself.

Why would I fuel my body/mind with crap?

Why would I treat my car or my house better than myself?

insight

Think of this as me saying no to the status quo. I’m not going to play their game. A game where 1. the rules and regulations are rigged against me. A game where 2. my values aren’t being represented. Just because I’m saying no to this system, doesn’t mean I’m saying no to life, or to alternative systems. You can say yes to life without having to play the fame, fortune, materialism, hedonism game. That being said, I’m not 100% prolife, not even my own, but I’m more yes than no, or I wouldn’t be here, or I’d be shooting heroin. Think of this as what I’m doing here and now, in the meantime, I’m cooking up two alternative systems to the status quo, a more egalitarian system I’ve presented to you, as Antithesis (Militiarchy), and a more elitist system I’ve presented to you, as Lucis Trust (Sophocracy). Either of these two favors me and my values more than the present one, should one of them ever be implemented, but in the meantime, we have to get real, we have to focus more on today, how we’re going to survive and improve our lot in the here/now. Apathy to the system could lead to passion for alternative systems later on down the road in a round about way. Nihilism comes before the revolution. You need to execute an antithesis, chaos, before you can execute a thesis, order. Of course I could just be insane…

Oh I see, you meant you’re in positive state of mind and I’m in a negative one. I need to be pulled up a little and you need to be pulled down a little.

Insightfoul strikes me as the type who’d never be pulled down. I think he’s here to stay.

There’s a difference between not valuing the typical bullshit that’s thrown at you, and not valuing anything.

Reject the bullshit, but not that which discerns bullshit from truth.

I agree with a fair bit of what you’re saying, but I disagree that everything we touch turns to shit. I disagree that it’s bullshit to value humans.

My values aren’t objective, but they’ve as much integrity as any other value. Value isn’t objective.

It’s bullshit to say one value is foolish and another wise, until you declare an objective. Dismissing a value without referencing it’s harm, or a better alternative, in relation to an objective, is simply empty bullshit to any reader, even if the writer is consciously or unconsciously measuring in relation to an unspoken objective.

One would not consider living their values as needless/negative depletion of energy.

You’re not obligated to do shit. Anyone who says otherwise is a dick. However, ideals ought not be judged by their association to dicks. Surely, there’s fairer and efficient ways of evaluating, no?

To reject bullshit is quite liberating if said bullshit has debilitated you. Debilitating bullshit is always best rejected. Purge thyself, cleanse thyself of this vile influence.

If he’s antithesis, does that make you thesis? Who’s synthesis? Pandora?
