I like to write lyrics (mainly for guitar) but some end up qualfying as poetry (or just insane chatter) either way, I thought we could entertain a sing along…
Vanity Unfair
(Verse 1)
Surfing on a window ledge, wrapped up in the world;
Blurry faces on the ground, and sunshine in her curls;
Wild times and hazy lines, define a dime fortune;
And every day a car breaks down, and another starts again…
It’s so unfair…
(chorus)
Vanity unfair, why should all the people care;
They close their eyes, and act like they don’t see you;
Vanity unfair, personality impaired;
A motive lies somewhere in their virtue;
(Verse 2)
It’s a long road that you take, that somehow bends to you;
And all the interest that they fake, you can see right through;
A curse is still a curse, a name is but a name;
And in the end you’ll want to know, was it real or just a game…
It’s so unfair…
(Bridge)
Take a bow, ’cause you know how good you are;
Take a bow, you’re beautiful;
So unfair, that you know how great you are;
So unfair, you’re vulnerable…
(chorus)
Vanity unfair, why should all the people care;
They close their eyes, and act like they don’t see you;
Vanity unfair, personality impaired;
A motive lies somewhere in their virtue;
