Virtual 3D animation through your webcam

This video shows how you can turn your webcam into a virtual 3d animation device. It’s sponsored through GE and it works quite well.

wouldn’t it be cool if you could adjust the resolution on your eyeballs so that everything looked cartooney 3d?

The current resolution is too 90’s…

At first I thought this was just a joke, but it works pretty well. I think the higher the bandwidth, the better the animation works. I know their site is using object recognition software, but it’s still amazing.

Yeah, I’ve heard GE is leading Augumented Reality technology. We are also now moving towards using AR GIS maps, which I think is really cool. (possible applications of this technology seem almost endless…children’s books/toys, architecture, gaming, etc.)

You can also see in 3d by…well…just crossing your eyes

Whew! I had a hard crossing my eyes. Three images kept appearing. After a while I was able to get a fleeting glimpse of a 3D image.

AR is rad. I can’t wait until I can walk down the street and have a street map overlayed on my vision like in old school Doom. Or have big floating arrows virtually inserted into my field of vision to indicate where I’m trying to get. Soooooo cool.

Where can I find a good animation video to show me step by step instructions? I am working on an animation and I have to do two types of animations for this chunky character. 1 is a smear head turn and the 2nd is a regular head turn. His face is chunky and he has a hat and earrings. How do I get those to look smooth?
