This fascinating documentary seems to try to place the Russian leader in an unfavorable light, yet, because aside from its subjective, moralizing voiceovers, it appears to show only facts (BBC), it doesn’t quite manage. What remains impressive is how Putin prevented Russia from completely falling apart, something which would seem to have let to a state of total chaos on the Eurasian continent. As harsh as Putin is, he contributes more than any other leader to a global balance of power, a form of order and predictability.
I find that on these levels it is not possible to judge a leader in terms of whether a pussy riot member deserves to be mistreated in a gulag type of prison. On this path of mankind through the valley of the shadow of death, I think we can count ourselves lucky that there is a division of power again, much like the often reviled Kissinger predicted there would be, and not a singular superpower amidst a horde of vassal-nations. That is a recipe for total deprivation. Putin provides balance, where I figured it had been lost for good.
Am I painting a too positive picture of the ruthless Russian?
Putin is allot like adolf. They are human. Now I’m not saying Putin is causing genocide, I’m saying that people have mixed natures. There is some forms of good in almost any government and governer. There is also bad stuff in there. On earth our nature is compound. It is not pure. It is always a fuze of all kinds of negative and positive forces. I will watch your video later today.
After watching this, I think that Putin has some secret informants which are telling them about the wars and resource shortages which are coming. He’s oiling up. Hopefully he will have covert power sources like the USA has in its military and secret shit. Soviets had some serious tech in the passed. But I think they want to world to run out of food and energy. They want it so bad. They also want free energy for the military and bases and stuff.
Indeed, the man’s ability to perform on the public stage is astonishing, except when you remember that he’s a professional spy. But still, this was textbook. I cannot imagine Cameron or Merkel or even Obama doing this sort of thing as well.
I loved the quote, the implicit parallel between the puppy and the Russian people, both in terms of their character and in terms of how Putin presumably sees them.
