What is a philosophical stance you take seriously? Think about that, and identify one. Now what is the worst example of that ideology (or non-ideology, for the post-modernists. BTW, if that urinal ain’t in a museum, I don’t wanna see it!) that you could provide to give the uninitiated the entirely wrong impression of said stance?
Here is a great one for Confucianism:
That is just what you think it is . . . only so much worse. A woman letting her father-in-law breast feed from her while her son cheers her on. Totally creepy, right? It is from a Confucian-themed Amusement Park in Singapore, I say “Amusement Park” in the same way one ought describe the Creation Museum as a, err, Museum. A totally absurd exercise in that sort of thing funded by a well-meaning but ultimately insane religious fanatic. There are some awesome statues of Buddhist hell there too, but I’ll let the Buddhists display those
As for what is actually going on, it is the same idea as the more familiar Western concept of Roman Charity. But, from a modern perspective, that doesn’t make ti any less creepy.
