I kinda wonder how they ever know they’ve legit exited the matrix (like Inception), or can legit trust any interaction to not be with a program. When programs become sentient, the line between human and AI vanishes.
Matrix Resurrections is evidence of how Hollywood, and the media, indoctrinate the masses with subtle, or not so subtle, stories full of innuendoes and symbolisms, repeated until they become self-evident “truths” over time.

Going from the past movies…the Zion is a place of “liberation” - salvation…that “choice” is either an illusion or a flaw…that a new messiah is awaited to save mankind…all straight out of Abrahamism.

Everything good about the Matrix Trilogy was completely removed, with nothing to replace it.
There were several opportunities to present a ‘new’ story, anything remotely compelling or interesting, but just… no imagination or creativity in this.
They could have talked about the new Sentient AI who were inspired by Neo’s death, and rebelled.
They could have talked about AI factions fighting other AI factions after The Matrix series.
They could have talked about previous or the new iteration, Recompiled “7th” version of The Matrix.
They had lots of opportunities, yet, failed them all.

Back to the therapist. What’s up with letting the therapist (symbolic of media/political/etc manipulation, abuse of power, etc) live despite all the insane crap he was in on that resulted in SO many suicides reminiscent of 9/11 building jumpers?… how did Neo survive being a jumper?? This is deep. Discuss.
To add to my complaints in the OP… what are they trying to say in blaming the therapist for using unrequited/unrequitable love on purpose? They are NOT saying anything about gender. Not even when they talk about binary… or non-binary… unless I missed something.
