Danny Thomas was the coolest actor of all time. Look at what he did for kids. The man not only was an incredible actor , he had heart and soul, his legacy still lives on.
There were a few cool cool actors, and McQueen is def one of them, yes.
Danny Thomas?? No, no, no…I mean cool. You know?
…another cool actor from the same era - if I remember correctly, they were in many films together…
You obviously never watched his movies when he was young He was hot
Wait…this Danny Thomas…?

Cripes, Marlo was cooler.

LOL, Kris, you are entitled to your opinion of course, but I’m with rainey on this one.
Let’s not forget:
Ooh, yeah, good one.
Of course when I was a kid, I wanted to grow up to be this guy:
Eastwood all the way. I don’t think anyone else can compare.
I’m a Clint fan too, especially the old Westerns.
Can I add one more?
Love him.
Hm, aren’t there any cool actors today? Johnny Depp is really the only one to comes to my mind. George Clooney is kind of on the fringe…there must be a few others?
…and then the question: What characterizes McQueen as cool? Is it his blue eyed steely gaze that compelled all the ladies to dream of making woopie(sp)? His unflappable non fazed appearance while driving really fast moving vehicles? His subtle and sweet caress (yes ladies, I think you know what I mean. And if you don’t, I believe Rainey is more that willing to demonstrate.)? Or is it having ‘queen’ in your name and still managing to drive cool vehicles really fast? Can anyone help me out here?
Edit: Is it just me, or does it seem like the new bond is modeled after Queen (the looks and stuff). The name is Queen, McQeen.
All of these pictures and videos…
The only one I recognize is Sean Connery.
Is John Corbett cool? I think he’s pretty cool. Northern Exposure was pretty cool…
Wings was pretty cool too, what’s that guy’s name, Tim Daly, played Joe Hackett?
Oh yeah, and I liked Cheers a lot and the guy with the rug, Ted Dansen. He and I share a birthday, actually, I stole it from him as he had it first.
The last one I really liked was Johnathan Silverman from the Single Guy, he was very boring in a way that I really liked, so I thought he was cool. I don’t think that show did very well, though.
That’s about it. Right now, I mostly like the Adult Swim cartoons because they are eleven-thirteen minutes and that is about as many consecutive minutes as I have to devote to TV.
Pav,
Seriously?
You didn’t recognize Steve McQueen? Paul Newman? (Thanks, by the way, Magsj. Good choice, although I think the only movie he was in with McQueen was The Towering Inferno, not one of the most memorable for either of them.) Sidney Poitier? (Nice, Anita. No argument here.) Clint Eastwood!? And I repeat: Clint Eastwood!?
San, help me out here. What the hell are they teaching kids these days? (Ted Danson??? Hmm…Detective Harry Callahan, or Sam “Mayday” Malone…)
You know, it’s just possible, thinking about the new generation…it’s just possible…kids these days…could it be? Cool is dead? Can that actually be?
Cool.
R.I.P.

Ok, well…
I don’t even know who Steve McQueen and Paul Newman are, I have never heard of either of those guys. The same thing with Sidney Poitier. I knew that Clint Eastwood was an actor, beyond that, I knew that was what Marty McFly claimed his name was in Back to the Future III.
I don’t know anything about Ted Dansen playing a detective. The only thing that I know about is Cheers and that he was in a few movies. I have no idea what any of the movies are or what any of them are about.
For what it is worth, I don’t think that cool is dead anymore. I’m sure that a lot of people my age know who Steve McQueen is, well, maybe not a lot.
I’ve never really thought that TV Shows or Movies were ever really that cool. I think music is really cool. The weird thing about TV shows is that I only really like the characters that I find kind of boring. I think The Jon Corbett character from NE is boring, same goes with Ted Dansen and Tim Daly and Johnathan Silverman, as I have mentioned.
We should talk music, Rainey, we probably agree on a lot of that and if you can name something old, I can name something older.
that’s cool

Pav,
Out of curiosity, ever hear of Humphrey Bogart?
The one who talked to the girl about how she would regret not getting on the plane for the rest of her life?
I’ve heard of him.
I’ve heard of Clark Gable, also, my Mom says that I am his fourth-cousin or some shit like that. I don’t even know if that is true, I mean, I know it is true that my Mom SAID that, but I don’t know if it is a statement of fact.
Yeah, that’s the guy. He was the original. In film history, he invented cool. Every cool guy since owes him a debt.
Maybe I can find a picture of him somewhere and post it…
You may have it, rainey. He was pretty cool.
Movie sucked, though.
Worst ending.
