Relgion is based ofo of ignorance, well not based, but to believe in a God without empirical evidence is to except ignorance.

A foundation for knowledge would mean you have the intelligence to prioritize needs. IE the spiritual over the physical. Should we let the physical dictate the spiritual,… or vis versa. I am 100% that if we let the physical dictate the spiritual, then people will become caloused to the spiritual, and become superficial toward the physical. Imagine people, that their self esteam is baced in the physical. How easily I could manipulate them.
in conclusion i say:to throw out spirituality(which when prought to my attention is a much more savory word than religion)is to throw away the missing piece of the puzzle of life. all things could be answered, but without spirituality, the “why are we here” could never be answered.we could say we were created by non-life,but that will never answer the human need of why. purpose. if we did not need purpose at all, then wouldnt we just be like the animals, eating breathing shitting and beliveing we are hunky-dory? why is the purpose there? an evolutionist could just try to rationalize that in his set thinking frame, but i feel it would be very unfair.
the need for purpose is there for a reason, and that my friends is the intrinsic hint of the need for our creator.you know, that feeling of “i’ve done it all but feel something is missing”.
Ignorance and a lack of understanding.
Ignorance and a lack of understanding.
Throw out spirituality? You can be spiritual without a god. Hence buddhism is extremly spiritual and even more of a higher level of spirit than god based religions. And your quote “i’ve done it all but feel something is missing”. Thats because you will never! be satisfied we always tell ourselves once i do this ill be happy then it becomes once i do this or get this ill be happy. We base our entire existence on material things. Thats the reason for feeling like something is missing.
rather than countradicting you and argueing,i want to know what you belive is needed if not material things. of coarse christianity also is against materialism.beliveing me as a materialisic person is a mistake.
also, presumeing you are buddhist, how do we get understanding?
i find it odd to have spirituality without spirits or god. it seems deficiant.i am not familiar with that mindset. maybe it is similar to those beliefs that find spirituality in god’s creation?
A great orgasm.
Isn’t this the psychology forum?
The feeling like we’ve found “it” (the meaning of life, truth, etc.) is a coping mechanism to allow us, biologically, to continue to function. An animal that is capable of feeling content by making assumptions will live more efficiently (having spent less time searching for something to satiate itself,) and thus be selected.
As for the philosophical answers, I don’t think there is one. There’s only a naturalistic cause - we find “truth” because without it, we’re too preoccupied with its absence to function.
Maybe because they HAVE found the meaning/secret/pupose to life. How could we ever know since we are not them?
