the meaning of being alive is to feel happiness so if you are happy you won’t question the meaning in that terms, you would show interests in the maker thoughts as to see Him, but He made your unhappiness maybe to see His maybe to prepare yourself to recognize happiness in God

meaning means signifacance/purpose/intent. my beliefs guide my purpose/intent and my decisions. the consequences and thoughts which result from my actions(experiances/perceptions) provide the the base for my beliefs. some beliefs are absolute(gravity/the necessity of food,water,air ect.)

So here goes:
Picture this if you will: Eternal life. Life without death. What would drive you to get up every morning if you had an eternity to live life? What if your teacher gave you an endless deadline to get that homework in? Would you do it? That deadline gives the homework meaning.
Naturally, young people take life for granted because in their perspective they have so much of it. As I look around it almost seems as if the older you get the more appreciation for life you have. You pick up jogging or go to the gym and you eat healthier (gotta watch that cholesterol). Death drives us. Without it there would be no reason to live.
In an immortal life will there still be pleasure/success? i think that you just lack motivation. giving me more life doesn’t justify wasting it. i’d still want a life full of entertainment/success. if anything death helps to add significance to life out of the realization that life is a limited quantity, but an imortality of boredom does not sound good to me.
How is one supposed to answer such a question without guessing for themselves , how do you figure it takes a noun and not a verb ,

the point is that you, your actions/percpetions/conceptions give your life its meaning. nobody is going to live your life for you. what else gives life meaning? what else can you experiance?emotions are strong desire for or against the current environment. what comes 1st thought or emotion? emotions are the feelings of a strong preference.
“Meaning” is actually “agreement”.
When one agrees with and understands the processes of life, then life is “meaningful”. Agreement makes things “meaningful”. The things that people agree most with also appear to be the most “true” and the most “meaningful”.

It’s really just all about agreement & partiality with “facts”, otherwise known as “interest” in a subject [such as existence].
I like this idea of the “death drive” - isn’t it big with that mad man Lacan and its def in Heidegger some where. The other wierd thing is that it comes up a lot in Ann Rice’s vampire books (a weakness of my youth!) as they are always faced with issues like this being immortal and so on.
Of course the worst part of it is the more your appreciation for life grows the less your capacity to really live it. Seems unfair - not that there’s fairness in a random universe.

eh? some claim the acceptance of christ (however that is done) actually prooves that he is going to live my life for me , i cannot support this claim because i do not agree with it entirely.

Purpose is a recurring anomolie only brought on by the human mind. In our primitive enviroment asking questions made us understand so we could survive now as we still search for more purpose to pointless things we are forever stuck in our recurring questions. We perplex ourselves with questions of why and how but ultimately this will lead to our destruction.
purpose is an individuals goal; we have long term/short term goals, we need to survive to have the chance to complete our long term goals, but your average human doesn’t need survival skills(the need sobeys and money and shelter)how can you quantify a purpose? how can you have more of something that is complete in its existance? we can have different purposes but none are partial purposes , therefor you can’t have “more” purpose. searching for purpose is done when your a kid and you realize the entire point of life is survival/success/pleasure. then we search for the particular means to execute our purpose.
how can a question lead to my distruction? a proper question does 1 thing, it enquires about something. the result of a question is either a re-affirmation of a belief or a re-affirmation of ignorace.
What is god? this question re-affirms my ignorance. (no-one can “know”)
