What happened to my water melon?

Many quote un-quote philosophers on this site would have us all believe that nihilism is the final conclusion to any situation…

That our existence is pointless, that there is no morality, no ethics, not even free will…

Determinists will have us believe that we are merely biological robots; fungus on a rock floating through nothingness…

Free-will is the illusion which conciousness creates which is dictated by the state of the world; the state of our brains.

They conclude that this means that there is nothing beyond the mundane. Some even go to the extreme of saying that nothing is worth anything at all; that suicide is our most viable option.

Some meet nihilism with fear guised in humor, others simply cry out in agony, desperate for any release…

Through all this we seem to be left like mis-fit puppets reaching out for some shred of hope for comfort while we widdle away our years…

Honestly i don’t see how many of the nihilist assumptions are justified (like nothing after death or an illusory reality*)

What most of them do accept is that what we experience; what we see, feel, hear, smell, and tatse is like a facsimilie of the real world (which we all assume exists).

This belief is a very logical one, also one which supports the idea of a deterministic brain; a deterministic universe…

It seems like every direction leads to some sort of depressing nihilism

And one day I might finally lose my fight and accept my fungal existence on the 3rd rock from a star which will explode in a few billion years which will leave us nothing but dust floating for an eternity in an infinite nothingness…

My only question is "Why should my watermelon taste any less juicy? "

note: illusory reality: even the presumed external world (the world which we feel through our senses) is an illusion

Your watermelon can taste juicy if you want it to–it’s still an illusion of the senses!

=P~

…only if you let it!

What he said.

…or just turn your watermelon into one of these bad-boys!

Watermelon vodka-martini:

You like Vodka? [-( =; :-&

…only if it’s made from a non-wheat product: as am a celiac :frowning: It tastes totally different in cocktail form!

My favourite spirit is French brandy/cognac: which I am drinking some of right now!

but through it all my watermolens satisfaction levels remain constant  illusion or no…

It’s whatever you want it to be/think it to be…

The mind is the strongest tool we have for survival, and the strongest minds will prevail over the weaker, and gain the upper hand!

hmmm…

so when the nihilists take over, ill have the advantage because juicy watermelons will keep up my morale?

When I take over I’ll be armed with apples and bananas, in more ways than one.

…juicy watermelons!

Positivity is key to maximum survival  and that can’t be faked: regardless of watermelons, or any other fruit!
