THE RELIGIOUS DOGMA SO TO SPEAK. CHRISTIANS SAY GOD, ATHEISTS SAY NO GOD, MUSLIMS SAY ALLAH. WHAT ESSENTIALLY EVERY HUMAN BEING IS LOOKING FOR ; LOVE, KINDNESS, OR EVEN DESTRUCION AND WRATH, EXISIT IN ALL . WHOS RIGHT? NONE OF THEM ARE. THEY ARE ALL LOOKING FOR THE SAME INNER PEACE, SECURITY, OR EMOTIONAL STABILITY. I BELIVE IN GOD BUT ONLY ACCORDING TO MY DEFINITION OF IT. SO WHAT IS GOD?… AND PLEASE NO RESPONSE THAT START WITH HE….
Must you type in All Caps?
To me God is an omnipresent energy without a conscious mind. It’s the energy that is the basis for everything, even our body and spirit.
I’m such a new-ager
I have always liked the idea of the Supreme Mother Goddess. Not that I actually believe in her, but I just always liked the idea. It seemed so much more merciful, kind, nurturing and encouraging. Just the type of supportive god that I would like to have. But I just don’t have any faith. But I consider it a much more appearling vision than an old man in a white robe and a big white beard.
God is a product of the minds of men. Believing in a god cooked up in the mind of another man, you are by proxy worshipping that man.
God is a part of the psyche. God is part of you. Realizing this, and that nobody influences your own life on the scale that ones self does, one becomes their own god.
So in answer to your question, what is god: I am.
God is dog spelt backwards
True Story
God is The Creator!

Let me first of all correct you for using the word Allah. You made a list of key believes of some religions. You must understand that even Arabs who are christians refer to God as Allah. Allah translated to English is God. The general view is that we believe in another god besides the only God (which the Jews and Christians also believe in). So claiming that muslims don’t believe in God but only in Allah is ridiculous and paradoxal. I often refer God to as God trying to escape unneccesary discussion about ‘which God are we speaking about’.
Hopefully I’ve straighten that up, now let’s continue to answer your question. According to the Islamic belief (from which I’m a follower) questioning about who is God and what He is doing is irrelevant. Now the Islamic concept of God is that He (although He is absolutely not male nor a female) encompasses everything. In the Quran God has exactly 99 names which all represent His attributes and I invite everyone to read the list atleast once so that your knowledge about the Islamic perspective of God broadens:
The 99 names (attributes) of God
For those who rather stay on this forum; here are a couple:
Allah
* Allah, He who has the Godhood which is the power to create the entities.
Ar-Rahmaan
* The Compassionate, The Beneficient, The One who has plenty of mercy for the believers and the blasphemers in this world and especially for the believers in the hereafter.
Ar-Raheem
* The Merciful, The One who has plenty of mercy for the believers.
Al-Malik
* The King, The Sovereign Lord, The One with the complete Dominion, the One Whose Dominion is clear from imperfection.
Al-Quddoos
* The Holy, The One who is pure from any imperfection and clear from children and adversaries.
As-Salaam
* The Source of Peace, The One who is free from every imperfection.
Al-Mu’min
* Guardian of Faith, The One who witnessed for Himself that no one is God but Him. And He witnessed for His believers that they are truthful in their belief that no one is God but Him.
Al-Muhaimin
* The Protector, The One who witnesses the saying and deeds of His creatures.
The eternal mystery
That which has always existed and always will exist
The source from which everything comes and to which everything returns
Mind if i query?
Does not having a conscious mind mean God is ever “asleep”? How can one create a conscious mind without having a conscious mind? Why would one do so if the unconscious is more perfect?
Not that i agree with you, but i don’t think i’ve heard it put that way before. Certainly, if God is the orderer of the universe, it would make sense He had some sort of mind, but what does it mean for God to be unconscious?
God is everything. You are God. I am God. This computer is God. Your thoughts and concepts are God. Everything is God. Nothing is God. SUm of everything and nothing is God.
People are obviously not God.
And what does nothing add to everything?
i believe that since we are all imperfect humans we must have a “godlike” figure in our society to keep our fellow man from doing evil. Even though i do not believe in any religion myself i do believe that they do some good by keeping ignorant people from hurting others. And if there is some all powerful figure i believe that he has a very ironic sense of humor with all that goes on in this world.
We must get away from the erroneous approach of ‘whether or not’ - you can’t mix Religion and Science, Mythos and Logos, Intuition and Rationality. You can only have them stand side by side, complementary to one another.
Intuition, Mythos and Religion have been around for tens of thousands of years and have transported the principles of life in a manner that everyone could understand if they would cease to polarise their thoughts. The trouble with modern man is that he just is blind in that eye but can’t do without it. It is like someone suffering from ‘Negelect’ after a stroke, you just can’t see anything left or right of centre, although it is there.
Of course God isn’t something you can put under the microscope or see through the telescope, that is why all major Religions refer to the Divine as a Mystery, something hidden from sight, but the source of life and order, the architect of this spectacle we call a Universe, and giver of all principles of life and wisdom.
Shalom

god definitely exists, he is a crazy woman and her name is Eris.
God is many different things for many different people. I’m struggling with the concept myself, at present.
What or Who is God?
Hey! The answer is so crystal clear. I am the heart and my mind is God! It has to be!
Jeez! Guys it’s so obvious, oh! My goodness!
Watching some replies, sometimes I fell so sad !
What’s your view or favored view of God?
Why? Is it because you’re stupid or just plain ignorant or just plain lazy because you don’t even find the need to ask the person why they say what they say? Moron!
