What is God?

What real thing in the world do people use the term “God” for?

God must be a real thing in the world or not so many people would believe it exists. Do atheists recognize these things to exist, but simply refuse to apply the moniker “God” to any of them? Or do atheists believe the Christian term “God” refers to things which don’t actually exist?

The word “god” refers to an absolute determiner/cause concerning a domain.
The word “God” is the title given to the absolute highest of the potential gods.

There are 3 fundamental realms wherein the term God is used ambiguously;

  1. All physical existence
  2. All mental existence
  3. All social existence

In each case, it is rational to believe that there must be a determining cause for whatever effects the outcome within each of those realms of concern. Atheists will most stubbornly never call that cause by the moniker, “God” regardless of any reasoning, due to ego-defense.
