Ok then. Parmenedes and his followers believed that all change is an illusion. There is only one reality, which includes all that is finite, uniform, motionless and fixed and can be understood only through reason. Any sensory experience is a mere illusion. Why he believe that? Because he thought that one thing can’t be (e.g) hot and cold at the same time (existing). If one thing is hot, than it is hot, it can’t be also cold. For this to happen then this thing has to change it state, and this is an illusion.

Agree. When I said that we could be mistaken about reality I meant that not everything we are able to see is the truth. If you watch the news and Mr Bush says ‘we are going to disarm saddam because he has weapons of mass destruction’, is that the real reason? Does he really have weapons? It might be the ‘reality’ showed to us, but doesn’t mean it’s the absolute truth. That’s what I meant.

You exist, Clementine, your free will exists. And not knowing for what you have this power to choose, leaves you only with this possibility, of God’s existence. It’s obvious that ephemerality has no meaning, no rock to sustain it. And the Universe forever expanding and collapsing, that’s the same thing. If there is nothing unchangeable, then there is no point to change anything.

Hmmm… And about the event/ending part, yeah, I guess Sartre was right. An event has to end, as it’s just a step in a process.
