Really, guys, all I’m asking is a simple question. It’s just like when I asked who the greatest philosopher of all time was; this is mostly a matter of opinion. I was just curious as to what you guys thought the “magnum opus of philosophy” is–if not on a ubiquitous level, then on a personal level.

I might as well re-word it as, “What’s your favorite non-fiction book in the field of philosophy and why?” Better?

That’s moving from objective evaluation to subjective response. Which makes it much easier to answer.
