What is your favorite painting?

Is that it?

yep pretty much… the scene portrayed in the painting seems generic and devoid of meaning.

Are we supposed to feel sorry for the guy in the tub? Is the scene supposed to be surreal?

You said that you liked the look on the dudes face… Can’t say i agree.

But again, to each his own

Well of course it’s going to be appear devoid of meaning to someone like yourself who prefers big pink bunnies, you’re simply not equipped to appreciate. And no we’re not supposed to feel sorry for him and no it’s not surreal, it’s Diogenes.

Maybe we appreciate different things? I don’t think you have to resort to rash assumptions here. I was willing to share my opinion in light of the fact you were so willing to share yours earlier. (i think you just called it stupid)

The bunny picture has more meaning in the left ear then the whole of your most recent one.

The bunny picture is a sattire. It is a depiction of how mundane and disgusting reality can be. Your favorite childhood character the easter bunny is nothing more than a disgusting fruad, an atrocious manipulation of reality used to accomplish disgusting greedy goals.

Maybe you’re not equipped to appreciate that kind of thing, you seem quite young.

Sadism is not for the faint of heart

I can only pray you like this one

i was going to choose starry night, but i realized it wasn’t my favorite, just the most familliar.

Eclipse!

Get your own favourite!

I jest I jest…

I’ve got this print about my bed. Looks really good with just the lamp on, blends into the walls.

I redid starry night as a kid with small fine rotating lines (this is how he made it)…it looked almost identical to the original. Then I realized the hype was about equal to that of an 11 year old’s work.

Now when I see the picture hanging on the wall of restaurants and doctor’s offices…

it kind of loses its flare. (you know, if popularity doesn’t do it already)

That is like the 5th painting you posted.

How do you see this as funny?

Yeah I don’t have a favourite, just posting stuff I like. Plus I don’t want the thread to die either. Post some more.

I was just amusing myself with my incredible wit.

Then add something to it! Message boards are a social form of communication. Posting pictures of art with no take on it is boring as hell. It is a thread killer.

Why not just enjoy the art posted instead of seeking my blabber on it. Most people’s response to art is simply visceral. Why they like? They just do.

I agree, Rebel. And I have enjoyed your postings. I don’t think it’s a threadkiller at all.

Maynard - stuff like “How anyone could like art that looks like a 7 year old threw objects at a canvas is meyond me. Art is supposed to evoke emotion and tell us a message. It is not there to turn people into art snobs. This is trash.”

is not particularly encouraging to posters, however.

I am a thread “creator” or “rejuvinator”. You are both thread killers. If I wanted to look at images of art without any perspective on it I would google image the word art. You are a fool.

Then we shall continue!
