What sin has God condemned you for?

What sin has God condemned you for?

Why is God the only one who can forgive you?

It seems that just being born is enough to draw condemnation from God. Somehow, we are all born sinners. Whatever that sin is that we are born with, it must have been really bad to earn eternal punishment or death.
Scriptures themselves say that sin is not passed on so all babies have to pay for their own sins. They are condemned at birth. It could not be as Adam and Eve did because God said that they became as Gods. Exactly what the bible urges us to do. So that cannot be a sin.

Deuteronomy 24:16 (ESV) “Fathers shall not be put to death because of their children, nor shall children be put to death because of their fathers. Each one shall be put to death for his own sin.

Ezekiel 18:20 (ESV) The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father, nor the father suffer for the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.

The declaration which says that God visits the sins of the fathers upon the children is contrary to every principle of moral justice. [Thomas Paine, The Age of Reason]

Is there Original sin?

The Jews have no such policy in their myth. In fact, they show Eden as man’s elevation and not his fall.

What sin were you guilty of when born and which of your evil finite sins deserves infinite punishment?

righteous, sin, condemn, elevate, good, bad…
Children born sinners,

Condemned at birth.
The way I read it is like a parent.
You know damn well your kid, will do something wrong. That little innocent baby will get into trouble more than once in the process of growth, its a gimme. And that is all the scriptures mean by children as sinners.
Sins are forgiven when acknowledged, you forgive yourself and allow yourself to be forgiven by others and your god.
The word sin is really over dramatized when condemning the texts. It just means you are not perfect because to be born perfect would not allow evolving.

the jews have it right…

Actually turtle, if it works for you then its right, for you. No one belief or way can be right for all

Actually, that’s a pretty hard one to swallow for the likes of me who have been brought up with the notion of the ‘community of spirits’.

Obe, is your wife and you identical? Do you agree 100% of the time? Do you like the same things or have the same strengths and weaknesses? Did her parents mimic your parents in all aspects of child rearing?

My sin was that of having been born from an unwed mother. Oh, and by the way, it was not a god who condemned for that but other human beings. lol

If I actually “believed” in a god and terrible heartless one at that, it would probably be the sin I took on myself as I was growing up~~ that of not trusting or believing that I deserved any kind of love - that I was not worthy of the life that i had been [mistakenly] given. Of all my sins, that was by far the worse since it often created a living hell within me.

I’ve since then been washed clean of that sin of delusion by the loving minds and hearts of some few chosen people.

We can punish ourselves harder than any god ever could.

A mass murderer can believe in Jesus and go to heaven.

A normal person who does not believe in Jesus, who is not perfect but certainly not a mass murderer, will go to hell.

Is this justice?

This Kriswest still comparing raising a child to condemnation to infinite torment. Besides, as if a nice, responsible parent would design viruses such as plague and smallpox to kill over 100 million of their children…

Wow. Just… wow. The kind of mental gymnastics one resorts to just to preserve a delusion. Despicable and pathetic.

I am literally between facepalming, crying and laughing when I read most of the theist posts around here. Humanity is truly fucked…

This is an attack on a caricature of Christianity, an attack on a moron God who is unable to judge anything.

If God knows that death is merely the entrance to an afterlife, then causing the death of millions is not something awful. Death is terrible for the atheist who thinks that there is only this one life.

Why don’t all true Christians kill themselves, then?

Or, if suicide is a sin, they could kill each other instead and confess their sins afterwards.

Oh, hang on, that’s exactly what they’ve already been doing for 2000 years.

Only two.
First is bad intention and last one is ignorance.

.

Because, the God is the only one who is not ignorant and completely void of bad intention too.

with love,

While it’s true that not all Christians believe what she said, some really do. It’s no characature; it’s quite real. I’ve known people like that.

Some minority of Christians believe it, so let’s just give it the same credibility as the majority view and discuss it.

Are you an American?

Does your constitution not say a more perfect state?

That is how I use perfect and I can say that we live in a state of evolving perfection.

If you know the anthropic principle you will know that things here are the best they can possibly be given all the conditions.

But if you do not like evolving perfection, just think as good as they can be and getting better all the time.

More right than Christians and Muslims for sure. Less right than the Gnostic Christian view.

Remember the Jewish morning prayer with the men thanking God for not creating them as women.

That is the exact Gnostic Christian way of thinking.

We believe any myth or belief can be internalized and used to gain enlightenment. That is why Jesus preached to seek God within.
