The kind of stuff that happens right under our noses can be so outrageous, so defying of every human norm, that it is sometimes even hard to accept that it actually took place.

The case of Anna Politkovskaia in Russia is all the more mind-boggling as it is not the first of its kind. What’s more, this event becomes even more grotesque as it is met with the authorities’ indifference - Putin’s lax reaction proved to be nothing more but a string of words.

LOLLERT! Justice… The US has just legalized torture (causing serious pain) of anyone who has been accused (not found guilty) of having anything to do with terrorism, and declared it is not violating any laws to rape (not guilty) detinees.
They don’t even have to murder the journalists that write about this - nobody cares in the first place.
