I am god. When I argue with you, I am arguing with myself. Because you are another aspect of god. I try to convince you, but I am a stubborn bastard. Deceptive too. The perception I try to show you, I then deny. You are a wily one. You are my mirror. I am the mirror of me.
There is no such thing as a single separate god from us, we are it. All inclusive. The word god then disappates from use.
If you think you are any better then an animal, because it is lower on the food chain, or a star, because it burns out to its death, then i am wrong. You are no better than a desk, an inanimate object.
You are superior but to what? Yourself?
When god is all things, there is no use for believers or worship. The way you pray to yourself, makes me think I am a silly powerful entity. Playful too.
Me me me, I I I, we we us us, you you, what is the difference? You might say a bag of bones, but then you would tell yourself you are wrong. The molecules of air and everying else is shared by we.
I plan make this a big thread, whether I respond to it or not. You made a good thread. Opens eyes.
Contradictions are the nature of this place, for whatever irrational blah blah blang.
the pantheistic theory which i have long identified with seems somehat less plausible the away you consider it.
if the universe is infinite and it is all together an infinite god (all its parts) then we are nothing but infinitly insignificant cogs in a wheel we can never understand…
insignifigant compared to what? What are you basing the insignifigance on? Compared to nothing? Is nothing signifigant or insignifigant, or . . . if we step back are those definitions just wisps of smoke?
You use the word insignifigance like it has weight. How can a meaningless thing use meaning to determine the meaninglessness of everything? How?
When I was trying to convince you of your godliness, it was the godliness in you that claims to misunderstand. The god in you wants to fool both your ego and my ego.
Alan Watts goes into why self deception plays a part in the universe. I think it just means that god at one point got tired of being able to know and do everyting, so by “splitting up” and foregetting we are god, it is like a dream that we wake from with relief. Saying, wasn’t the scary, but fun.
That’s about right. Some of us want to keep that wheel turning so we can at least be insignificant cogs.
It’s funny, because the ones who expect more from the universe (the religious) are the ones who will even fuck that much up…having the opportunity to be insignificant cogs, that is.
I’ve never heard of the harmless nature of a buddhist ever engraging someone before. Could it be possible there is nothing wrong with buddhism and that you are disgruntled? Let it be.
Any belief system that promotes celibacy is nihilistic.
If you want to “not exist”, go not exist somewhere else.
It comes down to this: if the communists need resources which must be acquired by controlling property, and a group of Buddhists don’t want to give it up, they die.
Hey, how about that? You want supergalactic omnipresent oneness? We’ll give it to you. BANG!
