what would you do if you could do anything you wanted?

I mean, how would you spend your day to day life? Doing what? If there were no restrictions and you were able to choose freely without regard to economic or social prohibitions, or even psychological ones that exist because now you may not be doing what you want as much as you want how would you spend your time?

I would never use technology older than the eighties again and I would go where ever people actually are to discuss the ideas I do online. I guess other than that I would never watch a game on TV again, I would just go to it and sit courtside or pace along the side lines. And of course I’d drive a decent car and eat better, but honestly that’s about it.

I would work to free the world from hunger and disease.

I would invent restrictions.

I would have loads of orgies with men, women and girls, food, sex and wine.

I would also try to control men, women and girls, make them submit to my will. I’d like to organize them into a kingdom, where I am the Godhead.

Either that or run around killing people with an ax.

Either that or just do what I’m doing right now, lying on the bed, typing to you.

I think most men, especially young men and boys, would play life like they play video games if they were released from societal restrictions and personal inhibitions.

Take without asking

I would not do anything on a whim or a sudden impulse, for fear of regret of consequences. Then I would do what I am accepted to do by either a promise or an expectation.

Then if there is any other options left, I would try to channel personally desired wants toward more socially oriented projects.

And lastly, but actually, I wish I could become a real philosopher, rather then one with a long, wooden nose.

Perform social and psychological experiments.

 A lot of anger there.

Honestly, I’d probably spend the first year trying to figure out why I had this ability, other people didn’t, and waiting for the other shoe to drop.

After that, I’d probably do some mixture of all the other stuff people are saying here.

I would probably go into cognitive dissonance initially - being as I’ve spent so long being confined by the limitations of existence and reality.

Then if my brain didn’t explode, - I would then spontaneously combust and remanifest in order to achieve transcendence upon existential sovereignty

Then I’d probably fly all around the stratosphere and outer space like Superman - I guess that shit would be cool.

Then I’d teach everyone how to do the same thing because I can do anything I want, but I’d be omnipotent and omniscient so no one could fuck with me?

The first thing I would do if I could do anything I wanted is buy a small cottage in the country and raise a family there.

Craps, baby! Shoot those dice!

No Economic prohibitions, give me a $10,000 Hard-Six, fuck the 9.09% House Edge, I have unlimited money!

Give me a $1,000 two-way Midnight, Boxcars, one time!!!

Help folks that deserve it, keep my job and stop worrying.

I’d have unlimited money, I’d help people whether they deserved it or not…and then play Craps!

 Pav, folks find out you have money they suddenly have life problems that only money can help. Oh and relatives suddenly claim you. I think discretion helps those that could truly be helped. Lottery winners are good examples of this.

I’d have dinner with the Coen Brothers and tell them a story.

I’d convince Smears that he might actually be able to think of something to add to this thread. If he tried really hard.

Quit my job.
Head South with my wife (Southwest or east, we’d figure that out on the way to the Airport or while simply flying ourselves - I don’t know how free we are, laws of physics not longer obstacles free?)
I’m afraid it is very unlikely I would post here again.

Gee, that question is almost as tough as this one:

You win five million dollars from the Publisher’s Sweepstakes, and the same day that that big Ed guy gives you the cheque, aliens land on the earth and say they’re going to blow up the world in two days. What do you do?

So, I’ll tell you the same thing I told Heather Chandler:

I’d finish reading Being and Nothingness.
