“Americans work five days a week, the minimum we ought to work is seven days a week,” Scott said. “I’m a business guy. Business people have to work every day. We need to work every day to get this stuff done.”
Senator Rick Scott of Florida said this… and this is the same senator
who pleaded guilty to defrauding Medicare, Medicaid, and other
federal programs to the tune of 1.7 billion dollars… while working
for Columbia/HCA, a health care company…and his own personal
new worth is over $200 million dollars… and the same senator
who only works, the senate as a whole only works about 165 days
a year… just another Republican who thinks that Americans
ought to work forever to build wealth for the rich, like Rick Scott…
and I did work almost 50 years and what do I have to show for it?
basically, I am one illness away from bankruptcy… as with
most Americans… and yet, Scott receives taxpayer funded
health care, and the typical annual pension for a retired senator
is roughly $84,000 a year… he won’t suffer…
and yet, he is quite happy to force Americans to work their entire
life to keep him wealthy… what a humanitarian…
Being an American means low pay, being overworked, having no
real savings for retirement, and apparently, we need to work 7 days
a week, every month, for every year we live… of course, to support
that vastly abused class of multimillionaires…
so, beside throwing Scott into prison for the rest of his life,
what other possibilities should we look into to regain control
over our lives? Being a liberal, we look to making changes
in our lives, but conservatives/MAGA believe in making no changes,
in fact, they make it clear that we should heed tradition and return
to the past… for IQ45, he wants to bring back slavery and women
being the property of men, but that, even for conservatives, well
some anyway, is a bridge too far… so, it seems to me that
making the usual liberal small changes isn’t going to make
a difference, so, what changes would you advocate for?
One change, that individuals and corporations must pay their
fair share of taxes… My father in law, who was a CPA, died
20 years ago, once said, if you are a millionaire and you pay taxes,
you are just being generous, the laws are made for wealthy
people to avoid taxes… and therein lies my first change…
the wealthy and corporations must pay taxes…
