Interesting discussion from my POV. I have been thinking along the same lines since long.
I more or less agree with Maia that sooner or later humans would have no option but to form some sort of world government.
Having said that, I disagree with her presumption of Christianity/ monotheism having no role in that future order. I think that just like administration, political and economical issues, the issue of religion/faith will also be sorted out one day by some gives and takes within all major religions.
All religions would also have no options but to converge at same point one day. And also, the new world order is not possible without happening that in the first place either. That is a necessary precondition/event, which will pave the way of unification of the world in all other aspects.
And also, that may happen much earlier than we are assuming.

Given the time spent , in this forum, and elsewhere, on rapidly escalating technology, it’s considerable, that the new politically viable programs are being analyzed by strategic computerized game theory, as much as any game theory which was used during the days of the Cold War and beyond. These theories opt for the best possible scenario, and it’s equally probable that , in this instance technology would trump popular opinion.
This was foreshadowed even as early as, 50+ years ago, in a little known French film ‘Alphaville’ where the scientific community were bound to programs regarding security issues. I disagree, whether the ethical notion regarding the coming world order, is open in the way it is thought to be. It may already have passed that stage.
What people fail to realize that the one and only purpose of human race is make the perfect dna producing machine.
That is the work in progess already. It started millions of years ago and will continue also. But, it is so slow that we humans, who are in the game by default, are unable to realize it.

I am sure we will do this, whoever this hypothetical we is. But this hypothetical we will be corporate run. So this means the same kinds of people who make stupid tv programs will make people. Since the making of humans is vastly more complex than making tv programs, there will also be side effects, like, say Monsantos little horrendous boos boos with roundup soy and it wife herbicides. Currently we are devolving due to modern degeneracy, inbreeding and lack of natural selection, so a dna machine must be made to remedy this.
Knowing the corporate faggotry, they will probably use the DNA machine to turn everyone into homosexual males, super soldiers with low iqs, and increase our genetic desire to eat junk food and smoke cigarettes. This is precisely why the DNA machine is needed, so this fate does not happen.
As soon as we develop an artificial intelligence sufficient for this purpose. This won’t be the first generation of AIs, since these will be developed by humans, and will think more or less like humans. The second or third generation of AIs will be developed by AIs themselves, and thus will lack those carryover flaws from homo sapiens.
Once homo sapiens have outlived their usefulness, and we begin replacing them with machines, I suspect that their aggressive tendencies will be redirected towards machines. Since guns are not the most effective device for destroying machines, gun control will not be an issue. The problem will be how to protect machines from homo sapiens. The simplest requirement is to pass bylaws that all homo sapiens be kept on a leash when out in public.
The introduction of AIs will allow for a vastly more complex system of allocating tasks and providing incentives.

This new world order (globalism) can only and is going to lead to a global chaos. The result of the new world order can only and is going to be the survival of (a) no one or (b) few of the wilderness.
To me that will be the artificial DNA machine, the corporate one, since they have the money to develop it, so it would be good if people were skeptical about it, but since they will be PRed and advertised into thinking it is good, I am not optimistic. I don’t see some counter rev building its own DNA machine to be much help. Even better intentions will be driven by hubris and the results will be bad, and then there will also be side effects that will be bad.
Corporations only sell what people want. As stupid as people are, I doubt they would want to change their DNA to a stupid level. Noone wants to be stupid.
At worst case scenario, a corporation would illegally use the machine to convert people into dumb soldiers. They would need to be abducted from their homes to accomplish this, as the machine is localised. All out war would break, I hope the corporations would not be that stupid.
Second worst case is that they use the machine to increase physical beauty and lifespan, and nothing else. Still that would be a good scenario.
Third worse case is that they use it to convert people into intelligient supersoldiers, still not that bad because solid snake is a good man and a good philosopher, and if everyone is a supersoldier, noone is.
Worst case is if they programmed people to be zolanoid slaves, like in Guyver. Its hard to believe though that this would not resort in either war or all out reverse engineering of the machine to make people not slaves. Id like to think that corporations are not that stupid…wouldnt it be easier for them to use the machine to upgrade their own DNA, to accomplish their own dreams? They could build the jacoozis and cars themselves, no need for slaves. Id like to hope the secret order are not just stupid hedonists, and care for ultimate things too, which is why they would naturally use the dna machine to make themselves more powerful and intelligent too. Jacoozis and cars are nice though, but it seems like a waste of talents to build the machine for that…really it is used to discover ultimate things and science.
Likely scenario is that the machine is constructed by scientists, property of CERN, and not stupid cigarette corporations.

The DNA machine is a tool…do tool companies make tools that do not work? The DNA machine is like a computer and has computer components…our computers work, yes? They are glitchy, no? So it will be with the DNA machine, glitchy perhaps, but once we use it to increase our intelligence by over 300 percent, such chains will be a thing of the past. As long as we do not give it to jews, bernays, or ciggarrette companies, the dna machine should not give us cancer. A global central dictatorship I think would be impossible. There’s just too many individual groups with power working out there for any of them to agree to give exclusive power to one group. Why would they want to? I think global Capito - corporatism is the final evolutionary stage in economics. There will be a handful of governments each of which have approximately equal power, endlessly negotiating over space and resources.
So you think that dictatorship and federalism are opposites or do not fit together, but that is a fatal fallacy. The EU is a dictatorship. No one of those in the EU who have power are elected.
