Whats the best video game?

A video game that cannot be beaten? If it were then it would not be best.

A classic, tetris or mario, or zelda?

A video game that hits the heart. I would say out of all genres, rpg kicks in the most, there are numerous that are good, but I perfer FF 7. If only that game was remade into supreme diffcult to beat.

My first favorite was Earthbound, its on old Super Nintendo RPG that I though was simply amazing.
Then came Final Fantasy 7, that game was also amazing, might be my favorite. Final Fantasy Tactics was pretty solid too, not many people gave that one a chance.
Although Metal Gear Solid was a great game also. The story was amazing, I learned a lot of real life information from it, got an interesting history lesson while I was playing it. That game could be my favorite. The other Metal Gear Solids are amazing too.
And of course there is Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind, that game was amazing also. And Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion is pretty good too, though I think Morrowind was much better overall.

So those are my favorites…

Yes, they definitely need to remake that game with better graphics, a PS3 version would be nice, but if they actually did remake the game, they would make it more ‘consumerized’ meaning all flash and no bang.
They won’t remake it though, they were going to awhile ago but they scrapped that and supposedly they will never attempt to again.

StarFlight and StarFlight II are the best

“Kula World” - for the PS1 ( called “Roll Away” in N. America ).

That helicopter game on addictingames.com

the greatest game ever : Final Fantasy 7 - PS1

the best game ever : Legend of Zelda Ocorina of Time - N64

as far as gaming experiance goes, i used to be quite a hardcore gamer mostly before the PS2 still spent allot of time on the PS2 aswell.
many dream of ff7 being remade, like someone said they was going to do it but the final fantasy spirits within movie was a flop so they scrapped the idea, i think they didnt have the money…

i played Kula World, good game, roll ball roll!

Love that game. I even briefly considered digging out my old N64 to play on it.

One game that I adore I got as a Christmas present, called The Movies, where you run a movie studio (bit like theme park, but you get to make the movies too). That’s a hell of a lot of fun, very complicated, lots of user-generated content.

Also a big fan of the GTA series, particularly the very first game, and GTA III, the one set in New York (Liberty City). Guns, cars, whores - everything a young man needs.

I also like basketball games, and football games. I hate practically all over sporting sims.

Morrowind top ranked then the doom games and diablos

Tsk tsk.

No mention of Gothic so far. It is well worth checking out.

Daggerfall was a huge black hole for my freetime. Perhaps Morrowind/Oblivion edges this one out because of the mods but neither were as truly engrossing IMHO.

Also, there is a little game called Another World (alt title: Out of this World). For a game with zero dialog and zero text during the game (there was a quick sidescrolling journal entry for about 1/3rd of the way through the game if you waited long enough at the title screen) this game has one of the most well developed, cinematic plots I have ever seen. I really felt like I was the main character in a way I have not in other games. You really get attached.

I never thought , you a philosopher woman, Kris would play video games, other then mario or tetris.

DAmn, no one has mention any new generation system, other then n64 or ps1, games. Are they really just crap. Well , there was mention of mirrorwind, for x-box. I just remember shenmue. Damn I missed that ending.

Since you all are mentioning more than one best games , I might as mention mine as well. I 'll stick with 5.

Lufia -snes
xenogears
ff7
FF6 or 3, the same version
zelda

I think these types of games are remember because they have such a good theme music.

while fighting games king of fighters and street fighters are the characters
and descent moves, and fun only for 2 players in action not solo.

Oh yeah Xenogears was badass, I think I lost it though…

Zombies ate my neighbors
Tetris II

For the Supernintendo.

Myst anyone?

Rome total war is also quite bad ass

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory
NCAA Football 2007

GTA vice and liberty city were great, Xenosaga was kinda borish but yeah still was pretty good. lookin forward to Xeno saga 3, FF 12 ( why its not over here yet i have no idea #-o ) and 13, Zelda twilight princess and the PS3…

KINGDOM HEARTS! :D/ hells yeah, it was one of the first RPG that I every got all the way through. I love the whole thing.

I’ve also gotten really into God of War, it’s pretty awesome.

Final Fantasy 4 and 5
Those are two of my favorite FF games.

Disgaea Hour of Darkness
That game’s so great, I think I had about 350 hours of time played on that game last I checked, it’s so addictive.

well, I’ll admit poke’mon has to be one of the games that I have had the most fun playing when I was younger (the original red and blue versions)

but I also fell in love with Twisted Metal III for ps1, and ever since have been a fan of the entire series, including Twisted Metal 1 and 2

let’s see do I dare mention Halo, I did like it a lot, my favorite first person shooter other than Timesplitter 2 (which allows you to create your own maps)

I wasn’t really around for the classic consoles, but my uncle did have sega genesis when I was younger and I LOVED the game called Streets of Rage

make room for the new generation of games and consoles.

Or these games that we have mention will eventually turn classic and antiquity. I don’t think the next generation of games can compete the ones we have mention, other then the new generation of kids.

=D>

Street Fighter II on Super Nintendo.

I spent every afternoon with all of the neighborhood kids at a friends house playing this game. We played and played and played. The best part? Scoring a perfect and talking smack! Tournament rounds… Also, the multiple locations. My favorite had to be U.S.S.R. or Ken’s “U.S.A.” location.

I still play this game with some of those friends.

-Thirst

I liked Chung-Li’s stage because when you went there that voice would be like ‘Ja-pan!’ in that funny way.

Someone mentioned Myst too. That game gave me many a headaches. Anyone ever get lured into one of the son’s books? There’s no way out, ever – but boy did I click around for a good couple days.
