i think an interesting thing about smoking pot is how, after the initial highness and into the grogginess that follows, the subconscious starts taking control of a lot more things, and you barely even notice.
for example, when playing two of my video games, savage, a melee combat game with sword swinging battles, and need for speed, im just plain better at it while post-stoned groggy. i will barely be paying any attention, mostly watching tv or something, and ill realize im destroying the enemy and getting a new record, without even trying!
if i had been concentrating, i would have done worse. when i concentrate, it takes time to analyze and think about it. when its a reflex, somebody else inside my head does that analysis for me in a fraction of the time.
the thing is, reflexes arent just animal instincts that only apply to flinching away from something in fear or not eating poop. reflexes are learned, they are no more than superfast replicas of the analysis and reaction we would consciously create with concentration in place of reflex.
in order to sucessfully practice melee combat in savage: battle for newerth, you have to dodge the enemy, and swoop into his newly created weak spot, and then time your swing to bash him at the exact second. when you first get into the game, its freakin hard, and when you get the hang of it, you feel like the man. the thing is, its complicated, it took me a while to learn, and i can do it purely by reflex without really paying attention. same goes for lots of things.
smoke pot, then when your tired afterwards, test out your reflexive subconscious.
