Mine came from Everquest, a MMORPG, basically an online dungeons and dragons, I started on a server named “E’ci” which is “Ice” spelled backwards, and I started a Barbarian in the icy part of the server, Halas. It reminded me of Kathmandu, an icy peak in the himilayas, so I took the beginning of the server name and juxtaposed it with the concept of Kathmandu, on a server that spelled ice backwards. Giving me “Ecmandu”.
mine comes from o-be (oh, be) which comes from obelafekete -which was a tongue twister-took first three letters from that, someone i think it was magsj who started to call me that.
well obe meant a lot of things, order of the british
empire, and out of body experience among other
things, and obe1 kanobe , , so i changed it. to orb, because obe- oh be, or be.not. that is the question.
later after the fact found that orbs are used in the
second part of Peter Sloterdisk’s trilogy. there are no
two things which may not be eventually connected.
Cool… thx for replying, I like to know where people’s usernames came from for some reason… they often have good stories behind them… it’d be a good sticky thread IMO, but lot’s of people don’t like me here so maybe not =)

You could pretty much figure where mine came from - I think. Actually though, I’m more a dragon than a bear.
You’ve been here a bit more than a month. Why do you think lots of people don’t like you?
Judging by the posts here in ilp, a newcomer might come to think that they are not liked but I think it’s just the way in which some people here respond - doesn’t necessarily mean you aren’t liked. And even if you aren’t - as the Buddhist monk said “So What!!!” I don’t know you well enough to know if I like you r to dislike you. 
I used to be arcturus “rising” and then I decided that I wanted to delve more deeply - to go into the depths - insomuch as the likes of me is able to - to descend further and further.
I had these female friends who had a collage notebook that they put together (not a scrapbook - they were true artists and it was really quite well-done). They were showing me it and there was a dude on a page whose face and hair looked like straight out of a stereotypical painting of Jesus, but otherwise he looked quite 90s Grunge. So I said something like, “Who’s that? Flannel Jesus?” And they laughed and they named their notebook Flannel Jesus, and I’ve just sort of stayed really fond of the term, so I’ve used it a number of places online.
There’s also another guy, or couple of guys maybe, who use the term to identify themselves. I think one of them is a shitty musician or something. Annoying.
Satyr gave me this name, some time ago in an email exchange discussing gender/sexuality he started to call me “Mannequin”…

One day me and my uncle were playing Champions of Norath 2 a long time ago, I was a barbarian named Frost and he was playing a Dark Elf named Artimas. So I asked him if I could use that name online and he said sure, then he started going by Ellis Delmar and I went by Artimas, Azrath, Asmeran. Mainly Artimas. It is also an assassin in the tales of Drizzt Do’Urden from Forgotten Realms. Artemis Entreri. Been using the name for years.

my cousin had a skateboard that we named “BLUE FUSION.”
he had this strip of white tape going the length of the board that had “[size=100]BLUE FUSION[/size]” written on it in permanent marker.
I might have written it on there, I can’t remember.
i just liked the word fusion, but that was the name of my cousin’s skateboard, so I went with fuse.
i kind of made it my pseduonym. then I made it my username when I came to ilp.
I was studying quantum physics(mechanics actually) on net , at same time i entered this site.
I just wrote /typed what was going in my mind at that time.
