Where in the bible does it state the devil was the serphent that tricked Eve into eating from the tree in the garden of eden?
I have looked several places and have found it never actually states he was, It actually states he was a dragon.

Maybe it’s in Genesis. I’m no Bible scholar so I might be wrong. What’s the difference between a serpent and a dragon?
It calls what ate from the tree a Serphent, But later on call Lucifer a dragon, Why not just call him a serphent again? But it Never states it was actually Lucifer who was the serphent who tricked Eve. All I ask for is where it is that says not, If not well, What most religions think today is quite flawed.
Do you think that the difference between a serpent and a dragon is central to what most religions think today?
Yes I do, I read this from Genesis, It never states Lucifer is actually the serphent that Tricked Eve.
And I am also baffled Why god punished Lucifer for the sin of Pride, but does not punish himself for the sin of Genocide?
Who says genocide is a sin? And come on man, even if it is, I think God would exercise what the Court would call soverign immunity, no sense in punishing one’s self now is there?
And about original sin, I thought it was that God told them not to eat from that tree? Who cares if a serpent or dragon came along and tricked her? She ate from that tree.
Who says Genocide is not a sin? Well god does for “thal shal not murder” is one of the 10 commandments. Surely you do not think Murder in the mass is excused?
The fact is it says the serphent was a snake, Then says Lucifer was a dragon, Most religions teach Lucifer was the snake who tricked eve into eating the apple. It matters a great deal into todays outlook on religion.
Theres no solid proof I have found that it was the devil who tricked Eve into eating the apple, At least I have not read it yet.
I’m asking why it even matters if she was tricked or by whom? If the good lord says don’t eat from that tree, then you eat from that tree then BAM…sin.
Because it admits the devil as being so wrong, When really the devil is no where near as evil as god is in the bible, Every other page in the Old testement is Murder, Genocide, Rape, Slavery, Adultrey, and much worse.
That’s why the good protestants ignore that stuff.
I know a protastant church that does not, All Christian churches are greatly flawed, And hell Chatholic religion is even worse.
Also Ireland and the protastants are always fighting.
Zero - I think you’re giving this god a bad rap. And speaking of rap, here’s an analogy: Eminem was accused of promoting the kind of behavior he raps about - but he wasn’t. He was just making a point -telling a story. That adultery, murder and rape, for instance, is told of in the Bible doesn’t mean that God approves of it - any more than Eminem does. It’s just the way the story goes.
Wow, corny segue, huh?
Sorry about that.
Michael Collins is a terrorist.
Actually God told them to do most of it, and also im not trying to give God a bad rap.
Ok i just wanted to know where they actually say that the serpant that made eve eat the fruit is the devil, because truthfully god only told adam not to eat the fruit, then he created eve
It may have something to do with translation.
That does not answer the question, and you can always look up the translation.
Revelation 12:9 (King James Version)
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Yes it matters completey, And Thanks for that but it in no way proves the devil was actually the serphent that tricked Eve.
There is also:
2 Corinthians 11:3
But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
You can put that verse together with the one I cited from Revelation and see where the early Christian thought trend was heading. More than that, it is an inference and an interpretation based on typology and symbolism. There are few direct references to Satan in the Hebrew bible. It seems the idea didn’t take a firm hold until the latter years B.C.E. The New Testament Satan draws together a number of OT images including serpents, sea monsters, dragons, angels, foreign gods and other personifications of evil and destruction.
