wouldn’t the existence of the self, negate the existence of god.

You can’t have nonbelieving god selves and god believing god selves, there’s just the self. Any belief in something outside the self just seems to me to be irrational

I say, stick with proving that you exist, It’s hard enough, let alone a god

Belief and faith in what cannot be sensed with our physical self, enhances that part of our self that questions existence. Sanity is tennous for those that think about exisisting. An anchor helps.
