I read the Metro on the bus because its free, its an alright read. But I always feel as if it is written by some very lame people who try and be down with the kids but they are realy just church going white middle class idiots. Thats the feel I get from it.

I only ever read The Sun if its infront of me and its the only paper availiable.
I was reading The Independant on the weekend, I only bought it because of a special offer. It was an ok read, I cant remember reading any other papers apart from News of the World and the Observer. The observer was a good read, but I dont like broadsheets… way to big, especialy when your sat on a tightly packed bus. Id like to read the guardian some time, I think they made it compact recently.

I would say the one that wraps my fish, but I don’t read british newspapers…

I barely read american newspapers

Indeed, the papers are often a pack of lies. But I always have a laugh reading some of the drivle. It is good to be aware of your surroundings though.

I just voted The Guardian but I don’t really read it. I just pretend very occassionally to read it. I want people to think I’m more left than right and I like to look at the pictures. There are never any good pictures and so I’m normally done ‘reading’ it before I’ve finished my coffee.

Sometimes I buy a Chinese paper from China Town. I like to wrap presents in it with raffia and prayer pages with gold leaf…

Do you have to be quite so rude? If youve got nothing to add to this thread then bugger off.

You do get judged on what paper you read, I could probably place a stereotype to every paper, but I wont bother.

Are there any papers that people refuse to buy because of principle?

Firstly, so long as it doesnt offend anyone, incite violence or ben doesnt mind it, then I can post what ever I wish in the mundane babble section.
I started this thread because I was interested to see what type of newspapers fellow philosophers read. I was also wondering which I should read.
To be honest, I dont give a flying fuck what you read. As of now your posts are void of any of my attention, you are not worthy of my reading them. Ignorant bastard.

I didnt ask a question which deserved or encouraged a rude and pointless answer. But I suppose you would argue otherwise, I can imagine what.

 I remember that episode, so true. So which paper do you read if any SIATD?

…oh and Angst, you really shouldn’t read that Metro man. It’s full of mind numbing drivel. Propaganda I say.

I read the Guardian’s media section, most of the BBC news (daily, more or less), I watch Channel 4 news, I read stories from Reuters (online), I listen to BBC radio all day every day that I spend studying (i.e. when I’m next to the radio) and I browse t’internet news services every so often for amusing or shocking items. I rarely look at newspapers, they’re childsplay compared to ‘New Media’…

The Metro. From the back and I stop once I’ve read the two cartoon strips (this takes about 3 stops on the underground).

Whats wrong with the Metro? I never realy saw it as propaganda, but I suppose that if its provided by the government then it must be.
I never read the sports pages I read everything but the sports pages. Wheres the story in sports? Blah blah won this, blah blah blah lost that Yawn. I should probably stop reading the metro altogether. But I can hardly afford a coffee let a lone a decent paper. I need a job.

Where’s the story in the sports pages? You should read ‘wacky world’ on Yahoo’s football pages, all sorts of silly stuff goes on in sports all year round…

The Economist is your man. Everybody else is mundane babble. K?

The New Statesman, wimp!
