The ones I remember fondly are Switzland. My girlfriend and I tried to hitch a ride and no one would stop so we gave up and went back to our accommodation, (it was a long walk back). Egypt for its beauty and history (not its food) and Paris for the man I fell in love with and lost. London where I fell in love (again) with an art teacher. I remember he gave me a box of lemon and rose turkish delight and some fine thin cigars and proposed marriage. LOL.

Never been out of the mainland U.S.

Don’t really remember, but it seems like living out of a suitcase offers the best description. You might call it chasing after a state, temporarily, (maybe overnight) to extended stays not heeding anyone but Henry Miller saying: “One doesen’t need to go to Greece, because California is so much like Greece, it’s uncanny@ well something like it.

Or Peeve Herman saying being in Paris is not much different then eating French fries, again a loosely constructed description.

Post script? That’s why the books I need , by necessity to navigate fill that life where if things turn horribly wrong, can serve as the room for the day’s (ad) venture.
