What does it mean if all the sudden your computer, instead of giving you a black screen, a blue screen, or some fuzzy, or frozen screen; what if it gives you a completly white screen, and you can’t do anything, but then when you reboot your computer everything seems fine?
It means your machine fucked up and you needed to restart it. Good job
What if rebooting only fixed the “symptom”?
They can fix themselves, you know, but if it makes you feel better run a scan of your system.
Lol, sometimes I think it would be nice to talk to a computer and find out if it wants anything. Maybe the white screen was my computer’s attempt to say something…
I go whitescreen myself sometimes. Usually in high-stress situations.
Depends on what you are doing at the time.
Windows, Mac or Linux?
Old computer or new computer?
Is it completely white or do you see some stuff around the edges?
External monitor? Does turning the monitor off/on do anything?
Does it always happen when you are running the same program?
Does it ever come back if you wait a long time?
Is the hard disk light on?
Is the mouse still responsive and moving across the screen?
Can you turn on/off the Cap Lock?
If Windows, can you get into Task Manager?
Windows
maybe 5-6 years old
Completely white
Didn’t check if turning the monitor off did anything
Just happened once while i was on this forum
hasn’t come back yet
no hard disk light
couldn’t see the mouse, but maybe because white scree and white mouse IDK
Did check on the caps lock
Task manager didn’t work
Did the Cap Lock light come on?
My first guess would be something wrong with the monitor or video card.
I’d take a look at the video cable connector and make sure it is nice clean and tight.
If it happens repeatedly, then see if using another monitor makes a difference.
allright, no i meant to say i “didn’t” check the caps lock.
