Whitehead Christmas

Whitehead Christmas

so what do you do
with love? treat it
like a non-factor?
an accident? an
evolutionary in-
vention? i suppose
the drive towards
it must be meaning-
less as well and
so a gift exchange
on a quiet, cold,
christmas eve in
no-man’s land in
1914 has no ex-
planation in your
philosophy, nor
does the reason
that put them there
in the first place.
it’s all the same to
you so you’ll never
really know what
the man had in
mind when he said
‘it dwells upon the
tender elements of
the world, which
slowly and in quiet-
ness operate by
love,’ will you?

.

A beautiful poem rainey – but what else could I expect from the likes of you. I especially love the grammatical/syntactic format of the poem and its layout on the page – presentation is as important as content when critiquing a poem.
