Actually slaves kept in a semi reasonable care rarely revolt. They will take their aggression out on each other rather than attack their masters in a concerted effort. History shows time and time again that though the slaves far outnumber their known masters, they do not revolt unless whipped into a frenzy by a new master and his or her entourage. Time and time again the pack/herd instincts kick in. Followers need masters /leaders. You may not be a slave, I may not but, the question is are the people around us slave minded? Yes and or no. Will the people around you rise up without a leader’s voice? For me, I doubt mine would. Knowing your master, changes nothing over all. We must overcome herding/pack instincts first. Until then why care? We cannot do it, breeding and devastation must.
I hear you but if our instincts want us to be sheep, and they seem to want that in the majority, then religions will always take advantage of that — possible weakness. — Or strength from our instincts POV.
What actually stops a person from living comfortably, personal lacks such as drive, ambition, effort, desires or government? Ancestors faced worse trials and dangers to overcome government, slavery, poverty. People walked to new lands with so very little other than their brains. What happened to this type of person? We suffocate them. Our ideas of government hand holding and being a safety net for everyone is humane and feels good but, it inhibits and will eventually fail as all nets do when too much is put in to it. I am not of any political party, put that out of your mind. I find most parties repulsive.
Its not just religion it is politics and policy. All around us sameness is pushed as safe and best from cradle to grave. Though, tolerance and acceptance is putting a new piece in the game of life, how long til it makes it to a full meme? Is safe best for us, is umbrella protection what serves the species best? I just don’t see it. Our individual desires, ethics, morals towards family, group seems to stifle the species. I am not saying abandon all help, I am saying let people strive, think, push, invent for the good of the future species. Although I do see a great probability of the species truly splitting.
Goats, to the sheep, will always seem to be on the wrong road but they are the innovators. They ignore the safety nets and either win or lose depending on the issues at hand.
It is hard to be a black sheep but some do rise above the sheep class even though the powers that be do not like it.
