Who loves Gilbert Ryle? I’ve been reading Concept of Mind and Dilemmas, and I am thoroughly impressed. There’s a backlash now against “ordinary language philosophy”. I’m not acquainted with some of the excesses of Ryle’s followers, so perhaps I can’t see how the seeds of their mistakes are within Ryle already. Anybody want to criticize Ryle’s approach?
Anytime I feel like I’m falling in love with a philosopher I like to get some dirt on him. Anyone relate to this?
