Who or what gives us permission to do the wrong thing

I,m stuck when it come,s to conformity, if i am willing to conform then i must be willing to conform to the whole and not just the part.

Now if that conformity leads to death, then who or what gives me permission to do the wrong thing and not conform to the rules that lead to my death.

Do you need permission?

Whatever you recognize as a moral authority, its authority exists only because you recognize it. So the anser to your question is: ultimately, you give yourself permission, either directly, or by authorizing someone else to give it to you.

Life is not a ‘one size fits’ all endeavour. If you choose to conform, conform to the parts that are comfortable, reject the rest.
