Why are the living forbidden from this knowledge ?
Maybe because all discussions on afterlife are based on wishful thinking?
But they are not, and it is already KNOWN and irrefutably so by the way
Forbidden by whom?
And there are many people who claim to know. Are you sure they are wrong? Which ones are you sure are wrong? The Christians? The Hindus? Indigenous groups? Everyone?
Iâm saying that they donât know and that I donât trust their near death experience that doesnât count as coming back from the dead they were somewhat alive and even then it is anecdotal evidence not proof of anything.
âyouâ can say whatever âyouâ like, but saying and claiming that âpeopleâ donât know something can be inferred as âyouâ are not a âpersonâ and/or that âyouâ believe that âyouâ know ever thought within every human body.
Also, âyouâ do not have to trust what is called ânear death experiencesâ of human beings. If someone tells âyouâ that they know if there is an afterlife or not, then I suggest instead of being absolutely closed, like âyouâ are here, and rejecting them entirely, that âyouâ open up somewhat so that âyouâ can learn and understand more.
Now, once more, it is very simple and very easy for people, who are alive âright nowâ, when this is being written, to KNOW what the word âafterlifeâ means and is referring to, exactly, and what exactly is entailed in the what is called âafterlifeâ. Which, by the way is backed up by irrefutable facts and proof.
So, once again, what âweâ have here is another example of how, while one is believing something to be true, they are NOT open to anything opposing their belief.
Okay Iâll give you the benefit of the doubt those people could be correct but yet again to say that the afterlife can be proven is just false there is no proof for an afterlife.
LOL, LOL, LOL.
ONCE MORE, what âweâ have here is another prime example of how, while one is believing something to be absolutely true, they are NOT at all open in any way to anything opposing âtheir beliefâ.
Also, and AGAIN, if âyouâ ALREADY BELIEVED and KNEW that there is NO proof AT ALL for an âafterlifeâ, then WHY did you start a thread with the topic title -
"Why canât the people who are alive right now know if thereâs an afterlife?â
Other than âto trollâ?
If you ALREADY, supposedly, KNOW that there is NO proof for an afterlife, then OBVIOUSLY the answer to âyour topic title questionâ here IS âThere is NO proofâ.
Now, contrary to âyour stubbornly held onto beliefâ here, there is actually proof for THE âafterlifeâ.
Yes, you are saying they donât know. How do you know that? How do you know it is forbidden to know? Is there a reason I should trust you when you say they donât know and itâs forbidden to know?
I didnât say there was proof. I am questioning your beliefs not saying they must be right.
Nichiren knew and he knew, because if he said he was still alive, then people who although wanted to believe, wouldnât because who would believe a living Deity?
You have to die in order to believe that death leads to an other life and that to another and so on
And Jesus The Christ said pretty much the same thing when He advised people to take up their cross and follow Him to attain eternity,
Jack Kerouac said, when tracking up the mountain at Big Sur in âLonsome Traveler, that you canât fall of the mountain because we live in tthe Golden Eternity but donât know it
How come so many lonely people say that to us unenlightened?
Could it be that we are tin delusion , instead of them who wrote about it? Just saying.
Had a similar conversation with Copilot regarding how they determine if brain damage and loss of blood flow is irreversible in the case of brain swelling that can be reduced by hypothermia.
Would you believe there are no known instances of reversibility because a) they havenât even tried, and therefore theyâre not gonna, and b) all instances of what could be considered reversibility are framed as âThey were somewhat alive (or blood was somewhat flowing)â (in other words, they called it too soon).
Circular definition? What circular definition?
sounds like science
Death is the great mystery of life and nobody knows with absolute certainty what happens because once you die thereâs no coming back to tell the tale.
The material annihilationists and atheists will say there is nothing after death but the reality is thatâs just another assumption. Even decomposing dying biological matter is transferred into energy which continues on elsewhere. Does it all really end into nothingness? @ghatzige
I like to believe consciousness persists in some form or another after death because I donât like to believe the cosmos is that cruel to extinguish everything after one life.
Nonetheless there is no proof or evidence for anything which is why there is so much speculation around the subject.
Nobody truly knows with the unknown and the unknown is a water fountain of mysticism, religion, spirituality, debate, or theoretical speculation.

Concerning the physical body, it is transformed to another form, based on the mass/energy equilibrium. So, this does not vanish to nothing.
If our human consciousness (or whatever identifies ourselves) extinguishes or not is another question, but I do not see cruelty on the second option. Having a consciousness surviving for eternity seems more cruel to me.
- The Christian/Muslim scenario of the soul going to paradise seems as eternal damnation, where you âliveâ with only scope to worship God. Any memories incompatible to âhappinessâ are eliminated, people you knew that went to hell should not bother you, there is nothing new to learn or do in paradise. To me, this looks quite cruel.
- The scenario of reincarnation to another form eliminates past memories and whatever happened in the past life. If the goal of reincarnation is to atone or correct past mistakes, it cannot happen consciously, because you do not know what you did wrong in the past life. So it is a new thing all together, which practically extinguishes the previous consciousness. You just enter in a purposeless cycle.
you basically made it up so you can just unmake it up ⌠problem solved
Can you give a version of paradise where souls have something interesting to do for eternity? Apart from worshiping God, what other activities does paradise provide for souls?
Religious texts frequently offer elaborate and terrifying portrayals of hell, while their accounts of paradise tend to be either remarkably vague or quite unconvincing.
Well, first you have to figure out what worship means. The first thing that pops in my head is a passage that talks about âdaily act of worshipâ. Itâs not just one passage, and itâs not those exact words â itâs embedded in the culture because itâs âbiblicalâ â a theme repeated throughout the Bible.
This verse about being a living sacrifice⌠emphasizing the importance of the body AND reason⌠makes hypocrites of so many of usâŚ
Which is why grace is âŚpriceless.
Since you have nothing else to offer as an activity, thanks for confirming that the only purpose of humans in paradise is worshiping.
It is the purpose at every point in time, actually.
And the second is like it⌠because we are all made in Godâs image.
âŚwould you ratherâve heard that thereâs absolutely zero point to all existence?
