Why didn't Jesus or Buddha or Muhammad write down their words themselves?

Why did they have to rely on their followers to write down what they said ?

For a prophet to write their own book, they would have to pause their mission to write the book, which in turn would undermine the fabric of their mission. They would just be an author signing first editions. Which aint a bad thing, but it’s not the same level as a prophet.

A prophet’s life from the start of their ministry til death, is the bezel stone of their message. There’s no route to an autobiography in it. I imagine contemporaries would be waiting to see how it pans out, before putting pen to paper. I mean, they might get exposed as frauds after all, so people wait until the prophet is dead before writing the biographical snippets. I think Buddha probably was a prophet but l could be wrong.

In early Buddhism things were passed down in oral and vocal traditions, it would be years after Buddha’s death monk scribes wrote down his teachings into writing.

Maybe he just didn’t feel the need to write stuff down, I don’t know.
