Why does human evil exist?

And why can’t human evil be completely stopped for good forever ?

What is evil? What is good?

Evil is anything that causes someone to feel bad. Good Is Anything That Feels Good.

So if a close friend dies, then that is evil?

Despite the pompous childish and ultimately evil explanations of a Neil Degrasse Tyson, your question demands Free Will. Deny that and you have utterly insoluble surds

So it turns into a free will debate.

Sure, cause if there is no free will, then no fucker has to take responsibility. Story of the human race.

No, it doesn’t turn into…You asked and commented because you knew you weren’t talking to rocks or bugs. Your question assumes free will. You aren’t poking my nose to make my ears automatically light up. :face_with_monocle:

Saying that I have free will doesn’t make it so.

Wel it must MUST make it something or you do have free will

I say it and you either freely consider and choose freely or you have no choice and post something like “Saying that I have free will doesn’t make it so.” which is truly nonsensical since if you didn’t have free will you would have no idea what I am saying. But I am so damn logical you might find me annoying

For all I know a supernatural force could be determining my life right now I don’t know.

There is a double causality that is preserved throughout the entire Philsophia Perennis, namely that God gives to will and to act but you can comply or not. So that supernatural force is God and gave you life and He also gave you freedom , so ironically God determined that you must act.

See ,not at all as you seem to think

ALL value judgments refer to an ideal…an objective…a motive.

If thats the case then how does the question even make sense?
The absolute baseline most miniscule building brick of your biological existence is that other existences try to kill you for their own benefit and you kill them for your own.

If this is your definition for bad and evil then welcome to hell my dude cause we have an entire planet and biosphere crafted out of it.

Because humans have volition without omniscience. We can choose to do the wrong things.

Your definition of what’s good and bad is subjective, based on feelings. An objective definition of good is whatever supports the life of a rational being. The bad is anything that destroys it.

Without free will, there is no morality. You can’t tell someone what they should do if they have no free will.

You allow the arbitrary to become a possibility?

Why only rational beings ?

Because only rational beings have volition. Good and bad are judged in relation to life, but evil involves a choice to do wrong. Evil doesn’t apply to things but actions, chosen actions.
