I choose who I want to have a full-length discourse with, and it wasn’t you - otherwise my style is short and sharp: I don’t do long dialogues of discussion.

I came here through boredom and wanting to discuss intelligent topics with others who could actually add to my thoughts, and not just agree with me on everything/argue their point across with no sound grounding… and I still have time to shop!

But there’s an order picking job at my work which is notoriously easier for women than for men. The job is also the most riddled with simple (but constant, fast-paced!) mental math. Simple numbers pop up immediately on the screen, and you have to comply immediately with a set of items. There’s no time to write anything, but add and subtract in your head.
Evolutionary biologists theorize that dogs can do math tricks because the social order of wolf packs required a basic mental math to keep track of the herd. If human females were indeed nesters, keeping track of tribemembers, they would also have to develop this mental math. With people constantly shifting around and engaged in their actions, there isn’t a lot of time to sit down and study everyone everywhere, but there does have to be a dilligent, fast-paced cognizance of who’s doing what where- in order to keep track of the tribe. Mapping it or trying to keep up with recording everything would have been useless.
Men being primarily hunter-gatherers had much use for analyzing permanent data. Far off locations, movement of a herd, optimum hunting strategies. There was a lot of use in strategies. There was no point in knowing what the tribe was doing while far away.
A forum is a complete contrast to this activity. You can hardly get any decent picture of what people’s lives are like off the forum (I’m sure we don’t post quite the way we talk and live) and there’s only so much profiling you can do based on posts. Its only use is to gain knowledge on permanent, repeating patterns and nothing on current affairs for the members posting.
Women are notorious for talking in real-time discussion. Men use chatlines primarily to find sex. Otherwise real-time engagement is primarily in the male-dominated gaming world. We only use that to better ourselves in permanent strategies. Here we like to get inspired and input information, we have little concern regarding each other’s lives and what we’re doing today.
Girls? Do I seem at least a little accurate?

if your getting at that women like talking about everyday life,and what they did today,and what happened (yesturday) and not stuff way out there like quantum physics/infinity/nietzche, i’d say it’s pretty darn accurate.
though i meant my question to branch off to all forums too. though my attendance at different TYPES of forums is very limited… i guess i’m only on a philo. forum and an opinions forum…

You’re most likely to find females on fashion/chat forums - there: they exercise their bitchy sides to perfection, and back-stab any female who tries to rise above them - very basic tactics in trying to be smart, but they fail miserably and don’t even realise it…

To be a philosopher is to be very much alone. The philosophical type is the loner - intellectually, at least. It is also to be an intellectual warrior, as philosophy is nothing if not a war of ideas.
I think many women aren’t attracted to this sort of thing.
