what i dont understand is why it matters what his relation to god is. if god wanted me to know anything about his physical or divine properties, i think he would have made it clear. i mean look at us trying to argue about the translations that have been made by people hundreds of years ago with languages that arent even the same as we know them today. it is ridiculous for god to expect us to know whether or not jesus is god or gods son or gods toenail. if he wanted us to know, why wouldnt he just tell us!?!?
he wants us to know to treat our neighbor like ourself, given caveats (including environmental and genetic brain destruction), and he has placed chemicals in our brains that signal our success in this mission. thats obvious, it doesnt require a magic book and it darn sure doesnt require an army of experts to interpret the fact that helping others makes me happy and that those who are not made happy by this have been broken in some way by their dna or abusive parents.
Such a simplicity would be liberating, un-predictable, and thus feared by the haters of the unknown.
Instead, walls of sophistry and suppression preserve moral class and truth class, as the unimaginitve, uncreative and overbaring, cannot handle that which is not forced into a suffication of linear consciousness…
im asking why god cares if we believe jesus is his son or not. are you saying that god wants me to believe jesus is his son because of the fact that this will result in me physically benefiting from the effects of the holy spirit?
i can only receive the healing and spiritual properties of the holy spirit if i believe jesus is the son of god? why would god do that? and why would he make it so difficult to beleive in an organization that used to torture people and condemn science, and has changed its infallible mind more than a few times?
why is it so hard to believe if god wants me to believe it? why would god want me to overcome my disbelief in things that look like scams to oppress poor people? i can imagine he wants me to overcome my disbelief that helping others is good for the world, but overcoming my distrust of wealthy institutions that have historically oppressed the freedom and greatness of mankind seems like a silly thing to want me to do.
by the way, i think the healing and spiritual properties of the holy spirit are psychosomatically caused by you believing that they exist. the fact that you think the spirit is zapping you with spine tingles happens to cause your spine to tingle. not much reason to think this isnt true, and theres plenty reason to believe that the ancient christian institution was, at some point, mainly dedicated (obviously not entirely) to oppressing poor people and maintaining the ruling elite of the day, and most of the strange, irrational things they claim, and that cavemen would disagree with, were fabricated by them to further their proletariat-oppressing goals.
