Why doesn't the incel movement have a profound effect on the world like other things such as Electronics?

Nothing mean just people not ignoring us at the very least people acknowledging that we exist and what are grievances are.

The pen is mightier than the sword.

-Edward Bulwer-Lytton

Man, like can’t you see the irony of quoting someone to argue a point that words don’t, like, matter.

Sometimes mightyr than the sword. And I never said that words don’t matter sometimes they don’t matter.

What are your grievances?

That I have sexual feelings that women ignore.

Do you make them aware of those feelings oceans apart from a hacker proof way of attending to them?

Well I think everyone is aware of those grievances. Nobody gets everything they want. Loneliness is difficult.

Once they acknowledge your grievances, what then?

I know that some people don’t get what they want I’m not forcing them to have sex with me but at the very least I just want them to acknowledge that I have sexual feelings and that there exists people like myself who are very different from them people who never have sex people who feel more sexual than they do people who never have sex and feel more sexual than they do.

I acknowledge that. I think most people are aware of that.

I really wish I could give you what you want right now, but I would be lying.

But, let’s just say there’s a good reason to lie in this case.

You are so extremely different from me. It’s like night and day. You never have sex (I’m actually having sex this very moment, and I never stop!) and you have immeasurably more sexual feelings than I do (I wish I could feel!). And I CAN know that — it is very possible for me to know that.

I hope you now feel acknowledged and seen. Because that is way more important than me being honest.

I never said that you don’t have sexual feelings but when you have the strong sexual feelings that I do as a man it’s easy to assume that women cannot comprehend those sexual feelings that are very strong from a man’s point of view.

…pretty sure they can.

…hypothetically speaking.

You’ve been acknowledged enough for one day.

Muting thread.

What your talking about is no doubt very painful. This is the state of world in many ways. I don’t mean that makes it ok, just that it happens in all categories. Women who want sex but don’t find men. Women and men who want to find love and the former can find sex but not love and they surely wonder if the men realize how much they actually want to be seen as a person and understood on that level. People with shit jobs who long to do something meaningful. Parents with children with chronic illnesses and the parents meet a society that doesn’t really support them enough. And so on.

I think incel got a bad rep in part because it seemed like the people there saw this issue and their pain in an isolated way and there was a lot of rage at women. Not everyone, but a tendency.

Let’s say there was a woman and she did not want to have sex with you. She wasn’t attracted for whatever reasons. What could she say or do that would make it clear that she comprehended? I mean, for most women to engage that intimately - even at the level of discussion - a lot of men will take that as now we are closer to sex. And many men are already angry they aren’t getting sex.

How many of these men could make changes in their lives that would lead to love and sex? And of course others in other groups, what steps could some of them take? And who is to blame in all these different situations for people not getting what they want?

She wouldn’t need to comprehend because she doesn’t care about me. And Perhaps God is to blame.

Even if you don’t believe in God, I think it is healthy to complain to God or the Universe. I mean, really let go and scream. I certainly do. If anyone can take it, God can. More than that, the situation we live in, even if everyone was kind and generous, it fraught with disasters, unfulfilled desires and tragedy. God is certainly one place to start.

Right. And most of us do not care about most of the other people in the world. We may have abstract empathy. We may think what is happening in Gaza is bad. But the people down the block…nah. I’m not knocking humans when I say this. If you can feel empathy for the people you know, work with, family and friends, that’s already a lot.

I asked this question to chat gpt and chat GPT says that humans get emotionally tired caring for too many people.

So, what can you do?

They do. Only 30 odd years ago, there was no internet (not really). That’s why the young’uns have to go easy on the old timers, the younger generations have adapted, the older ones remember a quieter, more personal, more human-centric way of interacting.

I’m not slagging the interenet, it’s just the way things are.

Wonder what will happen once the internet and younger generations become old.

It will all just be normal. Just like this is normal right now.

I doubt people are going to turn into cyborgs, or AI will wipe us out. Just like the fun has worn off with TV, the fun will wear off with the internet and even AI. That’s the most plausible scenario, a slightly mundane one. Hollywood doesn’t like them much, but hey-ho.
