Why is the human animal insatable

Why is the human animal insatable
it cant stop consuming
it never has enough
it is never satisfied
there is never enough money
there is never enough love
there is never enough knowledge
there is never enough power

lacan the psychoanalyst argues human are empty at the core of their being
he argues humans desire is an attempt to fill this emptyness
but because this emptiness is an ontological emptiness it can never be fill so humans are just caught in a perpetual desire
humans are like an onion or bamboo hollow inside

do you agree
or
why do you think the human animal is insatable

I think this is because humans can reason on levels of morality through cause and effect. Our innate creativity allows us to manipulate our environment better than other creatures. If you accept evolution to be the benchmark for superior ascension, then humans have progressed at an exponential rate over other inhabitants of this world.

‘humans’ are classified as consumers. It is what humans do. Consume.

It is like asking why the sun shines. it shines because that is what stars do.

p.s. humans also produce, so why can’t humans stop producing?

Survival and procreation, almost everything revolves around these two key concepts.

Humans always need to consume more for the same reason your car always needs more gas. What we consume is fuel, it gets used, and gets depleted. We then need more.
