Why is the world designed in such a way that there's evil built into it?

For example a person of no choosing of their own could be born into a life of suffering that will never change that suffering could be caused by other people but the person who’s experiencing the suffering did nothing to Warrant that from other people why is existence like this ?

Because this dimension is hell for a higher dimension. Our only hope is that when we die the sentence ends and we get to go back to our non-hell existence.Hope this helps :expressionless_face:

I assume you can imagine way more evil than now. In any possible world you can envision how some things can be catalogued as evil. It’s quite like how the definition of poverty changes dramatically between countries.

Suppose you go to actual stereotypical heaven. It can be great, but since you live forever you will eventually forget the evils here and compared to your actual situations, some things will be deemed as evil.

In a way, if you are not free make mistakes (like being evil), you are not free. So, which one would you choose? Lack of freedom or lack of evil?

Evil wasn’t built in. Humans started it when we broke (and break) community with original personhood and each other.

Absolute creationism.

All evil is created.

Why create enemies?

But the work we do in philosophy can pause here. Other questions can come first. How can we help children become more noble ? And more wise ?

Great question, I think it is this question that makes believing in a religion so hard. We can’t make sense of a god that would allow it to happen like that. Unless a weird god somehow like to “the more you suffer in earth-life the more great your next life will be in the spirit-world”, like martyrdom logic for instance.

Now that I think about it, maybe those martyrs who think that way are onto something.. it seems a lot more logical than believing in a god who allows random chance of a person born into total suffering and death for no reason?
