Probably picked the most He figured we could remember. After all, having created us He knows full well the limits of our attention span. Plus, we don’t even follow the ten, why bother with a whole bunch more?

Why would God need to write down anything or in any way physically tell us anything when he abides in each of us? If he does abide in each of us as the Spirit of life then he has a direct portal or umbilical cord to our souls and can speak the Truth and laws directly into our heart in a way it cannot be misrepresented or lost to those who are handicapped in the physical.
IOW, I would contend that God did not write the Ten Commandments because there is no need and no evidence or logic in why he would.
There were more commandments but at the time, Moses could only get the size medium rock tablet he used, from the local hardware store. And the size of the chisel didn’t help with space either. You could only get about ten on a rock that big with a chisel like that.
