"Oryx, my King, my friend. Kick back. Relax. Shrug off that armor, set down that blade. Roll your burdened shoulders and let down your guard. This is a place of life, a place of peace.
Out in the world we ask a simple, true question. A question like, can I kill you, can I rip your world apart? Tell me the truth. For if I don’t ask, someone will ask it of me.
And they call us evil. Evil! Evil means ‘socially maladaptive.’ We are adaptiveness itself.
Ah, Oryx, how do we explain it to them? The world is not built on the laws they love. Not on friendship, but on mutual interest. Not on peace, but on victory by any means. The universe is run by extinction, by extermination, by gamma-ray bursts burning up a thousand garden worlds, by howling singularities eating up infant suns. And if life is to live, if anything is to survive through the end of all things, it will live not by the smile but by the sword, not in a soft place but in a hard hell, not in the rotting bog of artificial paradise but in the cold hard self-verifying truth of that one ultimate arbiter, the only judge, the power that is its own metric and its own source—existence, at any cost. Strip away the lies and truces and delaying tactics they call ‘civilization’ and this is what remains, this beautiful shape.
The fate of everything is made like this, in the collision, the test of one praxis against another. This is how the world changes: one way meets a second way, and they discharge their weapons, they exchange their words and markets, they contest and in doing so they petition each other for the right to go on being something, instead of nothing. This is the universe figuring out what it should be in the end.
And it is majestic. Majestic. It is the only thing that can be true in and of itself."
It would be nice if we can all live in peace and cooperation with each other everywhere but unfortunately humanity has its evil elements that delights in the suffering, misery, or death of others.
So long as those kinds of individuals or people exist makes the proposition of long lasting peace on earth very difficult to ever attain.
If you turn all of civilization, society, or nation into a giant zero sum game eventually on a long enough timeline such places will tear themselves a part within total self destruction.
If you have more have nots than haves those have nots will eventually organize against the haves.
The survival of the human species requires social cooperation over competitive dominance otherwise our competitive fighting will eventually destroy us all. The entire future of homo sapiens is cooperation dependent and if we don’t try to achieve that the only alternative to that future is self annihilation.
All is dependent on the framing you pick. What i posted there was one of extreme natural selection and the way life itself behaves.
The question was why its not possible to be not violent.
Because life itself is violent. It attacks, eats, destroys, kills itself in an ongoing competition to determine a winner, a somewhat final shape life can take.
Life is not interested in peace. Life has determined billions of years ago that peace is stagnation and extinction, and only through constant adaptation and extreme natural selection can it hope to survive. And in that pursuit, it cares about nothing. Not death. Not suffering. Not undoing the entire species of those that fell short.
The writing’s framing is not social, not cultural, not preserving, not moral.
Its solely existential from the perspective of life itself.
Life (quite ironically) has embraced death a very long time ago, and it made it part of itself, as a function and rule, and as a conclusion: Yes. All of civilization, society, and nation will tear itself apart. Like we have done it a hundred times before. It is what we do. Every golden age becomes undone by our own offspring that fails to grasp it’s benefit and works.
At the end of the day everything in existence is a matter of framing.
I personally view humanity constantly destroying itself as a problem that should have been addressed and fixed thousands of years ago.
But that does not mean that i simultaneously cant see and understand that what is happening is in a way very natural. Life constantly destroys and rebuilds. Its Sysiphean like that.
And, for human beings, it is very easy and simple not to be violent. After all, it is natural for human beings not to be violent.
How, exactly, can something kill itself and still stay alive to keep being violent, attacking, eating, destroying, and killing itself, as you claim?
Yet here It is, existing forever and always.
Well It is still HERE. So, your claim that It is out to kill Itself is not working out exactly to plan, right?
Does this mean that Life, Itself, also does not care about violence, destruction, death, and extinction as well?
Are you ‘trying to’ claim here that that one tiny little piece of writing is the one and only absolutely True and right framing of ‘Life’, Itself?
Well, if anyone believes, absolutely, that the whole purpose or direction of ‘Life’ Itself is to wipe Itself out completely, then to not have any cognitive dissonance, ‘those people’ will obviously do what aligns with their absolute and strongly held beliefs and convictions here. So, do not be at all surprised to see people like this one do things to destroy and tear things apart.
I am still not sure how, to you, something can kill itself but still be around, living, to keep killing itself.
Is that why we have an annual global homicide rate of about half a million human lives? Is that why this number doesnt even contend with actual wars and conflicts?
Is that why the annual average global rate of physical violence is nearly 2 billion?
So why did you pick a framing that was not True?
Through self replication.
Pretty presumptuous to claim that life always existed and will exist. Do tell Anew. Will you be swimming around in the sun once it expands and swallows earth? “Forever and always”?
So death does not exist because life has a higher self replication rate?
Wonder how the extinct 4-5 billion species think about that.
Do tell. How does “everything depends on framing” translate to “there is only one framing”?
Your capacity to argue with things nobody said is astounding.
Then please keep on thinking till you figure it out, its elementary school level biology, but dont worry. We all started somewhere. I have absolute faith that you will figure it out.
Again, when proof, facts, or clarification is asked for, then I will provide them.
Also, if an argument is provided that is not sound and valid, then really it is not even worth sharing nor repeating.
Could you have picked a narrower field of view and perspective here?
Now, the answer to your question is ‘No’. The reason you human beings are continually killing “yourselves” in the days when this is being written is for another reason.
Again, ‘No’.
Also ‘No’.
Do you have a sound and valid argument for your claim and WHY human beings are naturally violent creatures?
That human beings are naturally non-violent is True. But, you believe absolutely otherwise, which you are absolutely free to do so.
So, if something is staying alive through self replication, then HOW, exactly, is ‘it’ killing “itself”?
Not when you have the irrefutable proof.
Do tell “anew” ‘what’, exactly?
What would make you think and ask such a thing? What does ‘this’ even have to do with ‘Life’, Itself?
Are you telling, or asking?
After all, you wrote in statement form, but with a question mark at the end of the statement.
See when ‘I’ asked ‘these people’ for clarification, none was provided?
So, is this what that copied writing was about?
So, if you are now claiming that you were not talking about ‘life’ killing “itself”, then what were you talking about, exactly?
And, that sort of teaching, and learning, needed to stay ‘back there’.
Obviously, anyone can see how if something has killed itself, then it would not still be existing.
Now, if you really want to ‘try to’ argue that ‘life’ is violent and always killing "itself’, then will just a tiny bit of critical thinking and some thought you could also recognise and see that ‘Life’ is also being born anew and looking after “Itself” always, and forever.
But, some insight and an open perspective were needed to figure this out as well.
Okay. So, if your own personal observation of people being violent is proof that it is absolutely impossible for humans to not be violent, then HOW and WHY you observe people that were being peaceful, this is NOT proof that it is possible for humans to not be violent?
Science.
Unless you make the classic argument that god being created everything 3 seconds ago, including all the scientific proof that exists and our memories of our lives as well. Then the answer is that nobody knows, everyone just believes what they think they know.
