I think that what should be taxed is not so much profit of businesses small and large but contracts with the government.
Because that is where competition ceases to be a check, not to mention it is ideologically an extreme privilege.
Corporate contracts with the government is technically what fascism used to be when it proclaimed itself.
I dont agree with any Socialist, it is rather aLibertarian idea. The government has to be hermetically sealed from the private world. To be in government is only viable as philanthropic affair.
Trump is, as far as I know, the only modern president who can afford his own leadership of the great economy. Like my grandfather the Communist, he donates his salary. Though my grandfather kept the minimum party wage, because he didnt have wealth. Still, this has to be the idea. High office should not be lucrative.
Bureaucracy is mostly, according to “The Law of Parkinson”, the multiplication of itself to ensure inefficiency, hiding every function behind two lower functions to pass the blame.
Im not sure how far Trump has been able to get with his agenda of draining the swamp, and I dont know if youve ever tried to drain an actual swamp, by the way.

Greatness can only be an aim where mankind isnt naive about the all too human.

The proper state exists primarily to protect the citizens from the possibility of an encroaching state. And this encroachingness of any other given state, any state given even an inkling of unchecked power, is guaranteed by the all-too-human.
