i am posting this on the philosophy site because this is at the heart of some very big human problems…
will a god be able to fix population growth?
will a god be able to fix the drug problem?
will a god be able to fix the way we are killing ourselves healthwise?
will a god be able to stop wars?
i dont think so…we have to do it… and maybe we cant…
I didn’t know these questions were at the heart of some big human problems. Were these questions raised at the last UN meeting? Is the US considering replacing NASA with a God Creation program to help the world out? What happened that made these questions suddenly so important?
apparently some of you dont like the word god…how could the word ever show up on the philosophy forum…the word god…terrible word to some…but some dont see it as a red-flag…you jerks cant see past your nose…
Well the philosophical problem I assume is asking if ‘something else’ will do it all for us.
My immediate instinct is to say no, we have no factual history where something from the outside has made an effect.
My second answer is that I have seen fate in action, even in something as trivial as a football match. I’d take a stab in the dark here and say YES ‘something’ from outside the human circle will do it, but no it wont be non-interactive, humanity has to play its part, to be the arms and legs to Gods will.
But the answer to the question remains no, because it’s a partnership; god wont do it if we are not listening.
I am saying that even though I don’t believe in god, at least not the racist, prejudice, sexist, child killing god of the bible, but I do believe in the divine infinite and that we have to learn to listen.
Can you hear it saying; “you are overpopulated”, or “don’t have more than one child”? if you want children or more children than you have, then you need to listen to that beyond your biological instincts. If your religion tells you to have say 10-15 kids, then in that respect it is wrong! It was a good moral a couple of thousand years ago when infant and child mortality was high, it is not now.
I believe in God so, yes, I believe in a higher power. When searching for answers about God you look towards him for the answers or someone who devotes themselves into knowing about God. In some shape or form most religions have their own manuscripts to tell them the answers to these question so look there too.
Second, people aren’t jerks just because they don’t say what you want them to say. No one here has said anything offensive; they only gave their opinions or said a statement. Which is allowed (some places) in this world and in this “democracy” we call America.
It is red-flags but humans have
the free will to do whatever
they want to do.
You can lead a horse to water
to drink but you can’t make it.
Meaning you can’t help a man
that doesn’t want to be helped.
they are jerks…you havent been around long enough…
let us assume that all of us are on our own…a god will not help with certain tasks…we must do it all on our own…
if it is going to get done we will have to do it.
Thanks for the warning but I am a big girl… I think I can handle a bit of cyber bullying/opinion bashing.
Yes, i agree, however you don’t go about doing this with a iron fist.
You can’t make anyone do anything they don’t want to.
That’s why you find peaceful ways and start small then branch out.
