This looks like some good clean fun folks!
If you’re the kind of person that shares that good ol’ Muslim sense of humor then let 'em know it!
If you win, just think of the diplomatic inroads!

TheAdlerian,
You sure do love to play the part of the instigator.
From the article:
Hey everyone,
Don’t forget, money still makes the world go round and Capitalism is the way the world does business.
“You sure do love to play the part of the instigator.”
Yes, Xander, I made that whole website up just to alter the ILP perception of reality.
Blaming the victim? How pleasant.
Adlerian…
Your picture scares me.
For the serious minded:
It’s clear to see that from this one Iranian “contest” that much of their world view is exposed.
They believe that the west, and the current cartoon controversy, is the product of Zionists. Thus, they will strike back at a Jew-specific topic.
The muslims hate Jews and now it’s known that they lump even a country like Holland in with the Jewish conspiracy.
There’s a lot of subtext to the story.
My commment was more about this text that you wrote:
Plus the title of the thread: Win Prizes:Iran Needs Holocaust Cartoons! I am calling that instigation.
Hello F(r)iends,
I find it interesting that no one is calling to see Jesus cartoons… Perhaps because they have more respect for their Prophets and their god than those in the West. Perhaps those in the West should understand that they parrallel thise offense to the offense that Jews would have at a Holocaust cartoon/joke… Granted, it is fucking stupid to kill for cartoons, but then again, we are dealing with ignorant people. It’s like waving a red flag in front of the bull and calling the bull bloodthirsty for running at the red flag.

xanderman,
It was irony brother, relax.
Thirst,
Igorant certainly seems like a good call. We are aware that many people in the mid-east only get a religious education, and that means that the average US high school dropout has a better foundation. So, it’s easy to understand.
However, doesn’t that call for a global education program and how are we about achieve that goal?
That’s an open question to everyone, of course.
that’s about the funniest contest i’ve ever seen.
creation imperfect,
Was that an ironic statement?
who needs cartoons when you can have piss christ sponsored by the NEA no less…

The idea that red aggrevates a bull is a misconception. it is just bright colours that aggrevate them, plus having some spanish guy poke them with sharp sticks shouting “toro! toro!”.
Less funny, more disturbing. Personally I dont find the idea of somebody offending thousands of jews over the holocaust very funny. I do find it slightly ammusing that Iran would behave so childishly, but thats what to expect of people with such childish beliefs.
Hey, that was during the Maplethorpe era!
Ahhh…the memories.
angst-ridden,
Iran recently said that the holocaust wasn’t real and now the blame the cartoons on the Jews. Their world view is limited and naive, I assume, unless it’s all strategy.
The thing that they’re wrong about is that even if all of it is a Jewish conspiracy the tradition of free speech is well supported by all of the west, so it would be a conspiracy that we could all get behind.
There are worse conspiracies, I suppose…
Now I see what is the point with you.
Are people ignorant and unhappy? How can we make them wise and happy? Teaching them that they have come from nothing, that they will return to this nothing when they die,and then that the only purpose of their lives is to know everything which is to be known about this world - that is, what the powerful want them to know, of course- without any greater reason than knowledge as a thing-in-itself.
The foolish humanism of the Enlighteners has clearly become your obsession.
You dream of a homogeneous world. An educated world inhabited by happy and productive brainwashed machines.
And you blame the ignorance of Muslims?
Fabiano,
So, fairytale induced mass murder is better than the fallacy of the scientific method? Existing in the hope of dying is better than existentialism? Is that what you’re saying?
Sir, by your tone you are promoting elitism as you suggest that humanity does not need enlightenment when you know it exists, and shame on you.
Is mass murder induced only by fairytales? The worst massacres of the last century were induced by very “realistic” reasons, weren’t they? Such as economical power, superiority of a people on all the others, racist hate, territorial disputes…
O Adler, please, man, if this enlightenment could really bring peace and justice to humankind, I would be the first to fight for it. But following your own arguments on how Muslims should be “treated”, how can you convince me that you are not so short-sighted and minimalist as them, you and all people who think like you do?
What is a good world for humankind to live in? You’ll probably say: a world without religion, faith, supernaturalism. But what will be the purpose of this world? None. You live only in order to be one more citizen in a world of many.
What is better, what is richer? A multicultural world or a world where everybody acts and lives the same way?
“Is mass murder induced only by fairytales? The worst massacres of the last century were induced by very “realistic” reasons, weren’t they? Such as economical power, superiority of a people on all the others, racist hate, territorial disputes…â€
WWII was all about tribalism, which is a fairy tale, and the cold war was about fantastic economic theories that cannot work alone, so that was about fantasy as well. All of the troubles that you mentioned have that same “religious†element to them, and it seems that the western mind is burning out on them.
So, when you learn a lesson and become wise it’s a nice thing to pass that wisdom along.
“What is a good world for humankind to live in?â€
What country has been the most stable to live in for over a hundred years?
Tah tah!
