Word Association Threads

What is your opinion of the Word Association Thread(s)?

  • It’s harmless fun for those who enjoy it, and can easily be ignored by those who don’t.
  • It’s harmful nonsense for the majority, and it decreases the value of the site overall.

I think that the problem is that the thread just updates too quickly now to keep up with. If people would try to keep posting down to two or three times a day it would help the chaos die down.

I’d say word association threads are on the same intellectual level as playing tic-tac-toe with a chicken at a roadside carnival.

That high…?

Yet another inane post – this time a thread – from obw. The eternal troll, who means only to enflame.

Tic-tac-toe is a subtle art, even for a chicken.

Word association loses its value if the player plays it in a slow and mindless way. Otherwise, it can be challenging.

What is given here? A rejection/acceptance dichotomy? Either [harmless fun] or [harmful nonsense] ?

What then is sense that we might seperate it from the non-sense? Who is the judge of such as this? What eye can see so sharply? What swift hand and keen blade can so divide the world? Eh?

Actually this was an an attempt at lightening the mood - I voted option 1.

Lightning rarely helps the mood.

well damn…

you do know what this means now?

why did the chicken cross the road?

to play tic-tac-toe at the carnival of course…

(totally ignoring the punk rocker to which it was stapled…)
