I can no longer worship a father god… I would worship a mother god…but not a son god…
what happened to daughter god…lets get real…what are we worshipping…what are we talking about here…
is the atheist saying they cannot believe in a person god or does it go further…
I am not going to be controlled anymore by the person-god people…I am going to make up my own god…my god… that works for me…
my god is a mystery…but I see some things from my heart and mind that I trust…

what do you believe anon at present…
I think it’s incredibly easy to invent gods, after all almost every society has done so since the beginning of time; what it is not easy to do is act as an apologist for your half baked imaginative ideas.
Well you just said that societies invent gods. Good luck inventing one by yourself. And “invent” strikes me as the wrong word to use, anyway. I mean what do you do, get a bunch of high powered people together to form a committee to discuss whether this new god should be blue, or female, or old or fashionable?
I can make up a “god” with attributes I like or find compelling all day long. But at the end of the day I’ll always be aware of my lame attempt at self-deception, and I will simply move on to the next trivial entertainment.
I don’t think so, turtle. Gods are “invented” organically, bit by bit. Has anybody ever witnessed the birth of a god? A god that you consciously invent is smaller than you, not bigger.
