Wouldn’t you need a worthy adversary to get the most out of the game?
Is that why there is two “deaths”? So both the serpent and God are correct?
After all, what is wrong with “wanting to be like God”? Was the serpent actaully trying to help Adam and Eve to gain knowledge at his own risk?
Was he following orders from his creator?
Are we to be unquestioning, fearful, obedient, robots or slaves?
Or were we meant to be questioning, informed, free, loyal, children?
I don’t think the God I serve would be dependent upon threats to aquire my obedience. All He would have to do is explain things to me. That would be like a used car salesman, who would rely on a gun to “rip my head off”.
If you were God, would you let a nuke warhead “steal your thunder”?
Humanities greatest steps:
DNA is information stored in a matter formatted medium.
Humans experiencing reality is not the absorption of matter and energy, but the understanding of it, and then the synthesizing of reality within the mind [which is the information format of reality]. When humans realized how to store information on a medium that did not decay the way their bodies did [after replications] it marked the beginning of the end of physical reactive evolution, because it was the additive evolution of information [that picks up momentum with development]!
The fact that information stored upon a medium can then become a structure, causes me to ask an interesting question:
Is matter a structure [yes, it is made of elements]? Isn’t a structure something made of smaller pieces? Nano technology will merely be the beginning; My estimate is that eventually intelligent beings will be able to create things such as new types of atoms or elements, because of the act of building things out of tiny parts.
…but humans cannot cause their building resources to spontaneously just exist.
The greatest problem of “intelligent design†(imo) is the fact that information has to be stored on a medium, and cannot create a medium!
What I could like to see next in technology is a cure for old age and decay [by reprogramming DNA or something like that]. If humans were ever able to store DNA on a computer [fully] and the information of DNA had a physical-to-digital medium transfer, what I would theorize is this: The digital DNA could be given synthetic matter so that it could create a digital human.
~
The argument against intelligent design is that intelligence itself is information which must me stored within a medium. Intelligence cannot create a medium, it can only make structures out of matter/energy.
Arguments about “God” and “Satan” stem from the ancient views that the missunderstood is actually because of a “God” or supernatural, intelligent force.
Dan,
You just spun my head clean off my shoulders. Can you break this down for me, I am a 35 year old mechanic. I sense something very important in what you wrote, but I cannot quite grasp it. Can you translate please?
Well my “If I was God” documents are old and not as developed as my current projects, but perfect replication of information would easily be the first step. The next step would be free-energy systems per individual organism.
-Free energy:
If time has force and is linear, the curving of it would [perhaps] create friction which would then become harvestable energy.
-Perfect replication of information from one medium to the other:
“Perfect replication of information” means that cell replication would not be limited; It would not degrade per rep. This would mean no more memory loss or old age.
The bible’s portrails of an “All-mighty-God” are absurd.
Don’t build world opinion on a false premise.
Intelligence is information within a brain. DNA is information within a small peace of matter. Information needs to be stored on a medium if it is to exist.
Energy, matter or some other thing that can be structured into information. Well humans are a medium. If you were to say that “God” is only a medium, that would mean that “God” is all matter and energy in this universe. I had also heard of a new form of matter called “exotic matter”(?) which was what caused galaxies to “clump” togeather? New forms of matter?
“What if” is always possible in somewere other then our universe/reality,
but that is of no use to us here and now.
Read my “Spontaneism” theory about existance-of.
Spontaneism:
If something can exist [or happen], then it eventually will.
The reason for existence is possibility, not creation.
If things do exist, this means that their existence is possible, and not only can it happen once, but it can happen again! This means that there already is, or there will be more then one universe [within our single reality]. This also means that if there is one reality [that all universes are within] that there will eventually be [or already are] other realities.

This is just one part of my complex personal beliefs system.
I am actually surprised that I got so few replies here on this thread, but the homosexuality threads are more “interesting” to the general average.
Digital humans, a form of advanced cloning? I can see that, Questions will run rampant. Would they be evolution or a subspecies humanity’s progeny. Their rights as humans or since they are not quite human would they get different rights and you just know someone will want to make them all servants/slaves
Another aspect would as digital these humans be able to (Iwill use a trekky word here) phaze from one universe to another if it is in conjunction.
We know that the speed of molecules create density or lack of density. Would they be able to change the speed of their molecules to become more solid less solid and perhaps control the need for nutrients.
Just potential questions.
I have a smattering of biology, my interest strayed into molecular level, because, as I studied biology I also worked as Inventory control supervisor at an electronics plant I remember getting a tour of the labs and clean rooms in high security. I watched as information was put onto chips smaller then the head of a ten penny nail. As the in and outs were explained to me, It struck me how close the 2 were to each other. My mind took off in directions that lost the folks there and biology proffesors.
Then my grand father introduced me to the joys of philosophy and theological studies pertaining to the growth of humanity. Ah to be 16 again and the joys of first exploration. I drove people crazy with questions.
I began to think that our bodies are like shells or more aptly put, cribs.
If indeed we were made in the image of a higher order sentient being it would stand to reason it was not a physical image but, our minds the potential of its growth. If one created a child one would only do so in hopes that the child surpasses or at least becomes equal. To create your equal you must start from scratch otherwise you would just be creating yourself.
This child must be given lessons and an area of relative safety and challenges. One would not want immature children hopping all over the place getting into trouble, So a restrictor would be needed, hence our earth and bodies. but, what if one species does not mature would you not put back ups around in the same area or different areas.
I believe that our evolution must come about with all the knowledge from medicine and technology plus spirituality.
Your digital human is one aspect of evolution. Certain people claim that they can travel outside their bodies and return. Evolution?
Now I may have worded things wrong or simple.I have not yet voiced all the possibilities in this area, perhaps we can explore further?
I even got the idea, although I am clearly out of my league when you take things to a moleculer level.
I was especially jolted by the comment you made about being equal, or supassing parents. That poses the question to me…would I want my children to become my equal or surpass me, if it was terrible where I was?
Or would I try to prolong it, always learning and growing, to the point it would take forever to get to that terrible place of loneliness?
What fun would it be to be at the end of all learning? Would you enjoy that? I don’t think I would…
Augustine, we might say, does describe a system of communication; only not everything that we call language is this system. And one has to say this in many cases where the question arises 'Is this an appropriate description or not?' The answer is: 'Yes, it is appropriate, but only for this narrowly circumscribed region, not for the whole of what you were claiming to describe."
It is as if someone were to say: “A game consists in moving objects about on a surface according to certain rules…” --and we replied: You seem to be thinking of board games, but there are others. You can make your definition correct by expressly restricting it to those games.
DNA is basically a set of building instructions.
If we were to make a “digital human”, I would estimate that first a digital home and 2 digitally cloned perents would need to be created.
My guess:
Environment could be synthesized but would be only reactive. The digital human’s six senses would only be able to react to the environmental components. [ex: Digital humans could look at a wall and it looks just like a wall, but they could not break it and the wall would not be made out of atoms, it would just be a symbolic shell that reacted to their senses.]
thats good. =)
The human system is a very deep and complex subject.
Your entire system used to be a small structure of DNA [information on a matter medium].
If “God” created us and wanted us to mature instead of constantly losing all of our wisdom, [we lose our wisdom because of our deaths/cycles of generations,] he would have built hereditary memory into the reproductive process. The first DNA would be the plans for/way to build the body system, but the second DNA would be smaller and would be the “contents-DNA”. The human immune system gets resistent to verious parasites with time and exposure, and also the mind learns many facts. Imagine the great wonders of hereditary body system information!?
Life [as a whole] is very stupid, imperfect and dis-organized compared to how it could be. I do not and will not believe in a perfect creator antil I see perfect creation.
Well all of that supernatural or exceptional-internal development has not out witted their imperfect cellular data replication, so they still decay, age and die. I think that spirituality is a form of self satisfaction, with great complexity.
How so?
People who scare themself with the theory of eternal life making them “bored to death” forget how simple it is to amuse the body system. It is all a matter of dopomine and other chemical levels in the brain. There infinite “things” to “do” and “learn”, also. Curing boredum is far simpler then curing old age. If we could do one, the other would have already been done.
Dan, Our knowledge is preseved and passed on, in many different ways we can retrieve past knowledge and add new to it. we learn and grow from history. we have families, friends, mentors, Schools, work, the Internet, TV, radio, books, the list of where we store knowledge goes on. Remember we only use a small portion of our brain, Why? What is it for if we don’t use it, a redundant back up in case of damage , yes but, perhaps so much more. we will surely learn to reach a higher potential with this wonderous tool.
Who said a creator has to be perfect. If a creator exists and thinks would it not also be capable of mistakes? Besides a creator is nothing more then a parent and parents make mistakes. there is more then one way to learn and grow, hereditary memory is just one way out of many.
Dan wrote
Only our bodies age Dan, We that reside in the body do not, we gain every day our body lives we gain, If our physical brain happens to get damaged then the input and output get skewed. But we are still in there. remember man has only been in this universe a very short time. We have a long way to go I think.
Spirituality does not mean religion or following a god. Self satisfaction is a part of it but, self awareness is dominent in spirituality.
Judas,
Thanks
You are a mechanic right? Well, look at an engine, it is like a huge molecule. Everything can be broken down to its simplest parts If you removed bad parts from a car engine that does not mean that the remaining parts are not working right? You can even put improved parts in the engine to make it run differently. That is a simple break down, we all know molecular science to a degree, we deal with it every day. Big thing breaks down to smaller things which break down to smaller things. Once the small pieces are apart you can probably rebuild a different engine. Molecular science as I have learned it 101
You know your question of parenting is interesting, it is a question we face on moral issues, should we do what is right for the child or what is right for us or what our emotional needs are.
I think knowledge is infinite for every one question, there will always be more then one answer because, you have right and wrong, opposing answers or conjuncted answers. At the very least it may take you to a path that you have been down before and allow you a different choice.
