This presents a bit of a paradox, because the proper thing is to give them/us control over their/our own emotions, and you can’t do that unless you put self=other from root to fruit (transcultural). Unless you have that mindset, you are not in control of your own emotions/passions, and therefore should not be trusted with theirs. …and you probably will be blindsided.
